Not sure if this is for everyone but if you don't mind food that is almost due by date but still edible. This site is for you.
Approved Food is a website where you can by food past its best before date or close to its use by date at a huge reduction.
Most food is actually okay after the best before date, and it's totally legal to sell it, but supermarkets don't want to, so it either gets thrown away, or is sold onto places like Approved Food.
The only downside is that there's a £5.99 charge for delivery, but that is for up to 25KG of food, which is LOADS. Keep an eye out for free delivery and money off codes to help you make extra savings.
Update:
£5.99 on TCB (thanks to ryanp post) for new Approved food customer which will become free delivery. Also use code PRIORITYFREE1 for priority delivery :)

If you are on a small budget, why would you buy non essential items like Coke? Tap water, and better for you

Quite right, nothing more water and bread for the poor! And what are they doing with an internet connection for that matter, what what!

A lot more expensive than you might think - though it used to be cheap. When you compare the prices with own-brand (and particularly with Aldi and Lidl) there's precious little saving, if any, to be had.
OK if you're brand-desperate, but why would you be? Brands and own-label mostly come out of the same factories, to much the same specification anyway.

Compared to a few years ago this site is not that good any more - They have hiked up there prices and agree that most of what you can get there is about same as special offers at supermarkets -

Approved foods is great. I found them very good for branded little cakes, little packs of biscuits etc for packed lunches. You can also earn yourself £5 account credit for each of your family/ friends who you recommend and place an order.

Nothing on this site ever seems that cheap to me, especially for stuff thats past its BBE date. You'd be better off going down your local supermarket in the evening and picking up stuff expiring that day for half the price or less than what these guys want.

I've been shopping with them for six years, and whilst it's true the bargains aren't as spectacular as they once were there are still some excellent deals to be had if you shop wisely.

Do not order from these if you are one of the usual idiot shoppers I hear complaining at the supermarkets help desk. 'I Thought these beans and they are a day out of date! Me and my family have been ill for a week, I've had a week off work and am now on the verge of losing my house due to lack of money and its the beans fault!! A £10 voucher will solve the problem though....'

why did you keep refreshing the page, resulting in multiple posts the same?
not as if you posted something totally awesome, which would result in many people replying to your comment
as for approved food, past best stuff usually tastes like poo, with a few exceptions
also yes I know it wont kill you but I'd rather pay for crisps which aren't soft etc

I agree, used to use them loads but stopped now as stopped getting the same bargains which justified the postage.
But I'm not somebody that blindly buys brands.
Don't forget to figure at least 25p postage on every kg of muesli you're buying.

Thanks for posting, never seen this site b4 but given it a go. If the £5.77 Topcashback tracks as a new Approved Food customer, that just about covers the postage. Got a free priority delivery code too which popped up while I was browsing - PRIORITYFREE1

He already answered that question:
Its 20g per 100g. It is packed with fruits so will not have to buy extra fruit to put in it. I make my own muesli up as you save a lot of money and can pack it with seeds and nuts to suit your taste. We also buy the dorset cereals from them to mix with it as they are so much cheaper as well.

Tinned and dried stuff is safe to eat almost indefinitely if the packaging is intact. But the quality (taste/texture) will gradually decline eventually.

They would not be selling food that would make you ill. The best before date has plenty of shelf life left in it. I don't go beyond 1 year past it best before date. Not all items have expired their best before dates on the site. I steer clear of crisps, chocolate and anything with mayonnaise in it. We love trying out new dishes as it makes a change and save a bit of money on the food sauces. I saved £45 on todays delivery.

Lots of the food is "Best Before" which means it's at its best before that date. After that date it's still edible but perhaps a little dry or something. Depends on the product. Muesli like above... Hell yeah
