Asbestos has never been safe but was on sale for most of the 20th century.

NHS hospitals and most houses contain asbestos but we're still allowed to be exposed to it.

If they aren't safe, why are they even on sale?

I've used a few of these, the lids vary by batch, they're not all the same manufacturer I don't think.

don't buy these guys, almost as bad as aluminum cooking pans leaching aluminum into foods. Go stainless steel and they're hard to find as often they'll be stainless steel outer only.

Thanks OP but I can only assume the hot voters have never tried them, because like most unbranded items of this type in the pound shops, these are poor quality and do not stand up to use beyond a couple of days.

Be careful with these as are prone to leakage as the top doesn't fit as well as it should. Binned ours after a week.
