This is for me the worst basmati rice I ever had, but it's a cheap offer so heat added. I wouldn't recommend this rice I would go for Trophy or Laila which I got from Asda last time it was on offer.

Akash is not PURE basmati think it's mixed with cheaper long grain rice. don't know about Salam rice but I guess it will be same.
if you want good rice in small quantities go for Tilda...

It would be suprising if it were not Basmati rice. Before you "Think" it's blended you had better be sure. Never had a problem with AKASH myself. I have seen blended but it is clearly labelled on the packaging.

we used to use akash basmati all the time, they were fantastic don't know if they have dropped in quality

Imho it just fine. Maybe it's not as good as Tilda but what can we expect a 80p/kg rice compare to almost £2/kg?
