Yeah, you can use it to purchase any digital games from the Xbox Store, it also can be used in the Windows 10 store.
So basically anything digital can be bought from Microsoft with it, whether it be games, movies, music, apps etc.

The only thing you can't use it for is for subscriptions like Xbox Gold, EA access and things like that.

Basically this is exactly the same as how you would use an iTunes gift card.
