I agree about HDR but I take no notice at all about smart features when buying a TV because a dedicated box like a roku is a) cheap and b) going to be more robust and supported longer than the features on the TV.

Add another to the faulty pile - turning itself off, menus jamming having to unplug it, not connecting at all to my router. Oh, and one of the stands was snapped. Bleurgh.

Mine was faulty too. Flicking screen. Why can't these clowns actually refurbish an item before selling it again.

Even if it's HDR it will likely be their idea of HDR rather than meeting the Premium Ultra HD standard, which at least is a stab at getting things right... seems only the more expensive TV's feature it, kinda justifies the price I guess... but HDR is a bit of a mess atm, but have a read here and get some idea about it http://digital-wear.com/dont-buy-a-tv-before-reading-this-ultimate-buying-guide-2016-450/

It's the Panasonic/Hitachi 4k again! Smoking hot at this price. Panny version £419 at Tesco:
Of course it will. All TVs have to as there is a lot of 60hz content about and if any TV didn't accept it there would be mass returns. Annoying how people always pick on 50hz in product description and make dumb/misinformed comments about it being unsuitable for gaming and the like, it makes no difference, 50hz is just the standard PAL display frequency, if that was true every TV invented would be 'bad for gaming' as they all have to support 50HZ (in PAL territories). Things like the response time are going to play a much bigger role.
The other pet peeve is people commenting on lack of (or poor) smart features, it doesn't matter, just get a £10 Now TV box FFS. That way when it inevitably gets superseded you only have to change a cheap little box not your whole TV....

If it's only a 50Hz refresh rate, that'll make it pretty poor for gaming too I guess

I'm sure It'll work at 60hz. My current tv was advertised as 50hz in the product description and works at 60hz.

No HDR and the smart features are a little weak, but great for the price.

I've tested that version and it's a hell of a lot of TV for £309 (see post #13 here: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/hitachi-49-inch-4k-uhd-smart-led-tv-349-99-argos-2475196). Make sure you do a firmware update out of the box and you're good to go.
