50hz should be illegal on a TV this size

Trading Standards are investigating. Ref: 0-367542
EU Regs outlawed 50/60hz on 48" and larger a few weeks ago. No wonder they're offloading em cheap.

Motion rate of 50Hz sounds worryingly low.

No good for ultra HD sky q, as you need HD 2.2

What they said. BT Vision boxes won't work with a set without HDCP 2.2 and I imagine the list will grow.

it will support 60hz, do you not remember playing a US game on your playstation all those years ago? it came out black and white unless your tv supported 60hz or you had a scart with the 60hz switch. Ancient tvs supported 60hz so this one will. Its a good price for what it is. I saw this last night , its resting in my basket ha

Heat added, it's a cheap biggish 4K telly.
Not hard for Argos to claim 'manufacturer refurbished' though, seeing as they are technically the manufacturer. They have these manufactured in Turkey by Vestel and stick the Hitachi name on, which they have licensed for use in the UK.

Yeah that's motion rate the fake marketing number manufacturers bandy around to try and explain frame interpolation. I would be very surprised if it is limited to 50hz refresh rate. In fact it looks very much like a techwood set I bought that was doing the rounds recently if so they are pretty awesome for the price...

According to this review from PC Advisor, "There are four HDMI inputs, all of which are HDCP 2.2 enabled". Therefore, the set should work with Sky and BT Vision.

This TV supports 50/60hz signals. Anything you read about 100/200/500/1000hz is marketing nonsense and is simply a feature known as motion interpolation and is something most people disable, think channel 5 soap sped up effect.
Just got this and every time I try and play a 4k YouTube video the TV shuts off after 3 seconds. The TV also keeps dimming with all timers and energy saving off.
Great purchase.

What I mean is you're stuck with the hardware inside the TV, you can't upgrade, with the android box separate you can upgrade no problemo
