I've just upgraded to 4K for £500~ for a 49" version and it's mindblowing how much better things look on this screen.
If you're buying a new TV, go for 4K and you won't regret it. My Xbox S looks stunning compared to the old xbox on my 65" 1080p screen and I've not really dived into the content quite yet, just played the demo videos and such.
Pointless buying 1080p today imo.

I'm just glad there is an actual end in sight (no pun intended) at 8k for human vision.

Hdr is still very expensive. But 4k is same price now. 4k can play full HD but not the other way around.

Given the quality of current television output, you'd be as well with one of these

So what's your recommendation for a very good 4k tv that will display sd feeds well for the same money? None as none exist. Yes I would like a oled HdR 4k tv for £330 but its not going to happen unless I have a time machine....so thanks for yr pointless comment...

and by the time 4k content is widely available, there will be newer screen technologies and 8k or above coming through more
i'll stick with 1080p for a while yet until i know 4k isn't just the new HD-Ready
