Handy tip for Gmail users, if you're signed up as [email protected], you can sign up again as [email protected] and get the new customer deals without having to create a new email account

I just signed up to a new account, added 14 days free for movies, entertainment and kids, and then added on the one month free ENTSFT and MOVIEFT codes for one month extension on the first two, and cancelling kids straight away.
I also went via TCB and may get £13.xx. But in any case I've got 6 weeks of movies and entertainment, with a diary entry during the last two weeks to hit cancel (you can continue to watch until the end - ignore the offers and insist on cancelling, do each separately). The kids obviously I've got 2 weeks free.

OP - thanks for posting this deal. Have some heat!
For all those that read this thread - could someone please post a guide to cancelling this 'cleanly' - so as to avoid any charges.
I am surprised to hear that each of the passes (entertainment & movies) have to be cancelled independently - even though there was only a single payment.

Can anyone tell me how to save a 4 month pass for movies
I'm currently on 4 month pass from nowtv
But I bought the one from Argos last week and want to save the pass
Do I have to connect the new box to save it
Any help please

You can only enter a new pass when there's less than 30 days remaining on your previous pass.
No, you can enter it in your account online, in the old box or via the app (on TV/phone/tablet). You don't need the new box.
Be careful that that cancel both the move pass AND entertainment pass - need to follow the cancellation process twice!!!
They make it a little tricky and confusing imo - i didnt cancel fully before and got charged - so just a heads up!!!!
ps you can cancel instantly and you will still get the full 30 days service - dont forget!!

If you've been a now tv customer in the past it may be worth checking your email - just been offered 2 months movies for £4.99.

I've got two months left of another deal. If I buy this, can I activate it in two months once my other subscription has finished?
Crossbow to f85c
27 Aug 16#35
No, this is for new customers only & begins immediately on joining.
You could take it up as a new customer in the future, but by the time you've finished with your present subs, this deal will not be available any more (unless they do it again).

How do these boxes work. Got sky HD in lounge but thinking they might be ok for bedroom. Do they just stream the programmes so Internet will need to be top notch??
cruisecars to mmurdoch
25 Aug 161#7
yes they stream but you dont need a amazing connection
othen to mmurdoch
26 Aug 16#16
You are right, this is a streaming device and works over the internet. The connection does not have to be particularly fast to achieve a good result, we use it at our country house in rural Norfolk where BT cannot be bothered to provide a fast connection (1.5 MB/s) and it works perfectly well.
Regarding the deal: unfortunately this is nothing new, Now TV has given a free month long pass to new customers for as long as I can remember, so it will have to be a cold vote (for the deal, not for Now TV, which is a good service for a reasonable price).

Hi, you'll be able to stream but the quality of the stream may be affected if you do not achieve a certain speed. NowTV stream 'live' movies in SD, so that shouldn't be a problem with a slow connection but if you are wanting to stream the 'on demand' movies in 720p they advised me I'd need a minimum of 3.2mbps, which was slightly over the speed I was actually achieving. Still, SD streamed OK if quality isn't a massive issue for you.

A 'Cold vote' for.....well, for what exactly? It's either a good deal or it isn't? If it's an existing deal and if it isn't already mentioned on HDUK then what's the problem? If it's a duplicate then say so....but voting 'Cold' is nonsensical.

New customers only so best thing to do is re-register against a different email address.

Hey I currently have Netflix and I have been told NowTV is more for your money? Does anyone agree with that? I'm thinking about moving to it

26 Aug 16#19
I'd give this trial a go.... You'll probably find you get bored of films after 1-2 months.... They don't update enough
If it's the entertainment part or Sky Atlantic then you might like it
I like Netflix as it's a mix of both. I know the films aren't great either
tank86 to World
26 Aug 16#21
Now TV is great if you don't have a Sky package, with the entertainment package you get live channels such as Sky Atlantic, and loads of box sets.
I have Now TV and Netflix and both are pretty good and compliment one another.

I prefer NOW TV but others prefer Netflix, its the general content thats different for some than others.
For a £1 its worth a try !

It won't come with the box but you can use if you have a smart tv or phone, laptop ect
shakerstevens to argosextra
26 Aug 16#25
Doesn't come with the box. If you want the box the best bet is one of the £19.95 deals on hot uk deals at the moment, on offer is £19.95 for the box and 6 months entertainment pass the other is £19.95 for box and 4 months movies.
As someone else mentions you can just get the app on a tablet/smartphone/laptop and watch on their or connect to your big TV.
