Not necessarily, it completely depends on the hardware. Of course, IF the hardware supports it, then a software update will enable it.
The fact it doesn't support it now is a bit odd and could mean they cheaped out on the HDMI hardware (they have to cut costs somewhere)
This is a reason i purchased the nVidia shield 6 months ago, as it was the only android box at the time which allowed bitstreaming of HD audio formats, which includes Dolby Atmos and DTS-X

What you read was a pointless comparison between the Playstation Neo and the New Xbox 2 - Project Scorpio (not the Xbox One S).
The Xbox One S here is effectively just an XBox One with a 4k Bluray player
The Neo is Sonys version of the Xbox One S, released later this year maybe
Project Scorpio is the next Xbox Console which will feature 4k gaming, and you will need to buy new games again.

It will be slightly more powerful and I have seen reports that future games will use more dynamic resolutions so for example a game played on the XB1 might render at 900p but on the S it could do 1080p and then on the Scorpio it could do 4K.
I just seen one in damaged packaging going for 90 quid in a branch of Game so you might well struggle asking 100 quid to be honest

Was available for pre-order on amazon.de at €60 last night but seems to have gone up to €70 today.
It won't be boxed in that flash themed packaging like it will be when you buy it individually either so you might get 40 quid ish for it, but I stress might because in theory you'll be selling something without a box 'second hand' as such

I did wonder what was going on when I saw Amazon Deutschland were doing this bundle at €450, the French operation can sometimes be a wee bit cheaper than the German one but nigh on 20% on such a hyped up pre-order product was a steal.
My mate in Austria reckons there was some chatter on German gaming sites that there will be a bundle with the GoW Elite controller thrown in for an extra 50 Euro exclusive to Media Markt.
If that is the case I might get him to grab me one if he can because them controllers are a bit of a stripe up on the Microsoft Store, they are well nice but they ain't worth €200/£160
Got to admit I'm disappointed with Gears 4 not revolving about Adam and Myrrah leading up to Emergence Day. Suppose it had a smaller slot for shooting action.

I got far more PS4 games than I have Xbone ones but I been playing my Xbox far more over the last few months, blimey I even changed the chosen Sky Go Extra device I use at my mother's from the PS4 to the Xbone because it crashes far less.
And I say this as someone who if I have got a preference it is the Playstation brand yet in recent times I been playing Red Dead on the backward compatibility, Quantum Break that I got for 15 quid in the Prime deals last week and still do a bit of Forza 6 too even though I am the most anti petrol head non car enthusiast you'll ever meet.
I thought the bundled controller with this console was an elite but it appears it's not, had that been the case I may well have jumped on it but as I said already if you already got an Xbone it's very hard to justify getting another one.

To all saying avoid s n get scorpio in all honesty from what I read scorpio will b v expensive at launch. Plus past experience new console best to get a year in their cycle as all the bugs if any get sorted plus dev fully utilise n bring out beat medium for us gamers.

Looking to enter the 21st century with either a 4k tv or projector, and might aswell get either the xbox s or new ps4 for 4k hdr media.
The xbox looks cool, has 4k and hdr, will be good value (I'll be after a 500gb version) - will the S model have the slower sata 2 interface still? But, I really want to play the last of us... Will playstation now ever come to PC or android? I played mass effect over gaikai which worked well so doubt its technical reasons holding it back.

From what I've been reading Xbox are coming back from the dead. More powerful than the New Playstation and this time around due to size reduction doesn't look like a 1980's VHS recorder. For all the kids that was a huge thing we played our movies on and recorded TV with. Rewinding and fast forwarding sounded like a pneumatic drill.
