Good deal.
I was expecting there to be a console war, doesn't seem to be many offers around for this new xbox?

You can get the original fat Xbone for £200.. what justifies the extra £150? Is it just for the HDR Blu-ray functionality?
EmperorRosko to schnide
21 Jul 161#15
Yeah I'm wondering if people think this is going to give them extra power in games. I mean a 4K Blu-ray player is expensive AF at the minute so not a bad deal if that's what you really want but then there aren't even many 4K Blu-ray discs to watch. I'm waiting for the Scorpio.

Aside from the HDR, and the 4k BR player, and the smaller unit, and the lower power, and the 2tb hard disk and the updated controller you mean?

Defensive much? Can we break this down for real now?
Firstly, it's pretty obvious it's a slimmer unit. Secondly, the lower power is a nice minor bonus but I sincerely doubt that anyone is buying it for that. Thirdly, the controller may be updated but you get a controller with the existing fat version, so that's hardly a bigger draw either. The reduced size is nice but largely cosmetic so does an extra 1.5TB justify it? No, not remotely when we know what storage costs in the real world. So basically the HDR BD movie functionality then.

Im in the "sticking with my fatty till it breaks as cant justify the extra money for the same thing only smaller plus it plays the exact same games "true story, honestly" camp

21 Jul 162#24
It was meant tongue in cheek, but to answer those points..
Either XB or ps4 charge plenty for extra storage, so you can't simply dismiss the extra storage as costing very little. A 2tb drive is quite some jump, and the cost increase is relative.
If you really don't value the extra storage, then wait for the smaller versions to come, the 500gb one is meant to be at 249, the same list price as the current model.
Improved controller is value less too? I get that the current one includes A controller, but that really is a blind rejection, isn't it?!!
Smaller and lower power... yes, I doubt many will buy a new unit ONLY for those features, but taken as a package, I personally think it's a decent upgrade, and one I'll be buying as it'll be a cheaper way of taking advantage of my new 4k tv.

yeah I know what you mean - the Xbox One might be big but its very quiet compared to the PS4, which is very loud. If the new small Xbox is as quiet as the original that will be very impressive

When you order it states;
"Delivery on or before Friday 5 August 2016"
(Also, select "Split Delivery" and you get GTA sent to you a lot sooner for no extra)

If the 4K blu ray player isn't that important to you, and want to save some money, you can just buy a 2tb external hard drive and plug it in.
It even works out better to wait until the 500gb of the smaller Xbox is released. As that is being sold for £250

I run a 1TB SSD off my current FatBox. But ill still go for this, because I reckon you'll get £20ish for GTA and the stand will get another £10... So for the sake of £70, you'll get 1.5TB of extra (albeit for me - unused) extra space.

I am completly the opposite, i love the fact that the PSU is outside the console, and i can place it way back outside the TV unit where it can never overheat and i will never hear it, because you just need to hear the PS4 on these summer days to hear that thing whine afer being on for just 30 min's, very off putting to say the least, wheras the xb1 can be on all day and nothing, love it.

Amazon France GoW limited edition bundle is a better deal IMO as you're getting an £80 game+ season pass+ weapon skin package along with limited edition console and controller GTA 5 and £13.49 in points with a higher price means you're paying more for less IMO.
Amazon france deal has expired, and comments say people have had theirs cancelled as a misprice
