A great everyday drill/driver for wood, metal, steel and plastic. Includes a lithium battery and charger - lithium-ion technology provides constant power, extended runtime, no memory effect, longer life and extremely slow self-discharge. It has 2 gears and 16 torque settings and even comes with a handy carry case.

Just tried mine and there's sparking in the ventilation slots when starting and stopping, plus a constant blueish light - manual says some sparking is ok but this seems excessive, can anyone advise please?

Not sure on the drill, but I've got a Worx Sonicrafter F50 and it's a beast.

Doesn't seem to have hammer action! 20v and no hammer pointless

Seems your comment is correct, no hammer action on a 20v drill is pointless..
This will make a very heavy screwdriver or doorstop!

IIRC, 2 years warranty with evidence of purchase (receipt / online order email confirmation) even if you don't register, and 3 years if you do register, online.
I've just had the charger on my Worx drill replaced under warranty - 3 weeks short of the 2 year purchase anniversary. Very quick response from Customer Service department. Sent a photo of the charger LEDs not working, together with proof of purchase (C&C Homebase email August 2014), and within a week I had a replacement arrive in the post. Wish other companies made Warranty claims as easy.

I don't disagree, depending on the available deal, just want to highlight that Worx tools are not nasty cheap s*** ....I use to be big fan of pro-Bosch tools some years back (maybe decades  , when these things were unbreakable, unlike nowadays, that I have manage to fry blue Bosch tools within a day

Collected mine this morning very happy with it and its very solid and as stated above there is a leaflet in the box that it comes with a 3 year warranty cant fault it for £34.99
I have worx garden equipment; electric chainsaw and leaf blower/vacuum. Never had an issue, solid construction and reliability + good reviews all round online. Also, 3 years guarantee when you register on their website.

Happy to concede that I have no personal experience of Worx and difficult to knock at this price. However, I'd rather a reduced brand I referred to (occasionally blue pro Bosch has been near this price), than the price ngangekrubally paid.

Reasonable price, but would only buy for occasional diy

At that price bracket I don't think the makes you refer to are any better, I have broke at least a dozen of them while some worx keep going strong. I'm amazed by the amount of abuse can get through, they are my first choice when I'm after a low-budget range tool.

WORX (sometimes stylized as Worx) is a line of lawn and garden equipment that is owned and distributed by the Positec Tool Corporation, a manufacturing company based in Suzhou, China. The Positec Tool Corporation was founded by Don Gao in 1994 in Suzhou, China. The company was initially started as an original equipment manufacturer of hand and power tools for established companies and brands like Sears and Black & Decker.

I guess you think Mr Black and Mr Decker personally craft their tools from solid just for you and Bosch are all made in a cute wooden workshop in the depths of the Black Forest?

I understand that the batteries on these are compatible with several other brands of '18v' tools.

I hope yours was at least the hammer/combi version with 2 batteries for that price! (Even then, personally, at that price I'd go for a Ryobi/Hitachi/DeWalt/makita drill as regularly on offer for similar or not a lot more).
