As a 90's kid I think the 80's Transformers Cartoon Series was by far my favourite growing up. Hot Rod/Rodimus being my favourite transformers. Since my dad loved it and then got me watching it I decided to order this Steelbook for him (and I keep the UV Code)
Not such of a deal but for those who loved the animated series and collector of steelbooks
Hope this helps :)

Love this movie, but this is an extortionate price.

The scrolls star wars one was my childhood my good chap. I saw that swooshing in/out style one and felt my childhood take a punch to the face.

it's important to understand how complicated this must have been to put together. I know when I was looking for the DVD movie many years ago, it came to light that there were at least two versions.... the crop 4x3 version (I was told from Canada) that had the adult language, and the US release which was wide screen but had the language censored out. I now have an HD version that seems to have both original language + widescreen but it sounds like there were many other versions and it would be amazing to the this ultimate version at some point (or even the 4K one if that ever comes out!).

Haha you certainly don't! Trying my best to resist buying it as I don't need a steelbook, but really want to see it now!

Then your life is empty. Change this tragedy now!
I had a cardboard sleeve also i'm sure...I still have the VHS but not the sleeve i regret. The sleeve was a picture of the mountain with the ark protruding from it IIRC possibly with megatron and prime with there axe/mace hands. Don't get that in cartoons these days...

Thanks, I remember having that one on VHS as a kid. Can remember it had a cardboard slip-cover but I could have sworn it said Transformers 'The Movie' on it. The Google pics do look similar to it, but are all in a plastic case not the cardboard like mine
Don't think I've seen this one then

I've seen two versions with different intros. Which version is this? I have my preference (the one from my childhood being my preference)

Depends where your childhood was. The scrolling 'star wars' intro was what we got in the UK. The US/CA got the extended Lion version theme intro with swooshing in/out style titles similar to MOTU. Also swearing, which the UK version didn't have.

Is this the one where they are all dead in the spaceship buried under rocks at the beginning and the little hovering thing revives them?

Got a bargain there, I'm sure it's long out of print and fetches high prices. The one on Amazon looks like an import.

Amazing film. Went to the cinema to see it when first released. Bought it on VHS then upgraded to DVD, gonna have to get this but only when it drops in price!

This is a 4K restoration from the original print. Watch this video from around 4 mins 30 for more details. Basically, this bluray will be the best it has ever looked.
