Are these compatible with existing Netgear Powerlines? I'm looking to add more in the house.

Powerline adapters need to be viewed as a solution to poor wi-fi coverage as opposed to a direct replacement for CAT5e cable. When viewed with that in mind, they're a great product.
Ultimately their performance is dependent on factors you don't have much control over; the electrical wiring in your house and how much interference is introduced to the system by everything that's plugged into it. Getting the fastest adapters you can afford is a good way to maximise the potential performance you'll get but as said by others, you'll never get the actual speeds shown on the box. There is a bit of experimentation you can try, such as different sockets etc but ultimately the only way to know how they'll perform is to try them.

The link speeds I've been seeing using these is around 470Mbps (both Tx&Rx) I have Virgin Broadband (Cable) at 70Mb and I get every bit of that through these.

They never get the quoted figures ever even the 1200mbps that's true hence the comment false advertising
can these be used on the same network as 200mb ones? ask I have the 200mb at the router and then these around the house for instance?

Yes but will work at the slowest speed homeplug on the line I believe, therefore if you have av 200 won't get more than 200 speeds, from the router, I would put the 500 on the router and the other 500 on the main kit and the 200 on other less needy kit - personally for a few quid more I would get the 600 or above with gigabit. if you're connecting kit only has 10/100 ports no need for gigabit though. All this is dependant on your internet connection speed because if you're on a slow speed then you don't need expensive homeplugs to achieve maximum connection at each point. Internal file transfers benefit though - exactly why you should go gigabit if streaming movies etc

They won't be slower no, but probably not much difference, get ones with a gigabit port like the Av600
The limiting factor of the 10/100 port limits a 500mbps to 100mpbs - you won't probably get 100mpbs anyway bit like false advertising with these homeplugs.
The Av600 series is still available in places - I have these they have a gigabit port and exceed 100mbps because of this. They don't disconnect and are brilliant. If you need more ports buy a gigabit switch and connect to the homeplug cheaper than multi port homeplugs
The new ones I believe Av1200 have a few problems

I doubt that many people need to shift files at 500MB on demand that use these though, mostly for sharing internet of which most is less than 100MB maximum.
If you're one of the 100MB customers (Virgin cable) then looking at something which is a true 500MB Powerline would be worthwhile.
If you're backing up a 5tb hard drive everyday then i can see the need for higher speeds.

Bought these from Argos last week for our bedroom - the sky box up there isn't wireless and our smart tv's Wi-Fi is woeful. Had them both connected to these in seconds, and now both the Smart TV and Sky can stream/download perfectly. Great product - well worth £20.

BT fibre is 76MB max so the 100MB won't be a bottleneck, unless I'm missing something? (Which I very well may be!)
The ping and download speed should be better than Wi-Fi all day, but obviously not as good as wired. May even be better through this on a 150MB Virgin connection than Wi-Fi would. (Depending on variables I.e. Distance to router, walls, thickness of walls, quality of Wi-Fi receiver etc)

That means the 'up to 500mbps' is little short of an outright fabrication. They probably get away with it because the chip on the board has a theoretical max of 500mbps and you may be more likely to hit the 100 mbps mark with it being further away from the limit with overheads than the av200s but it's not entirely honest.
Still a great price for these and a damn sight better than WiFi but be aware if you're lucky enough to have virgin/bt fibre you're not going to get your full internet speed through these.

Got a pair of these to replace a failing Netgear plug around 6 weeks ago. They seem to work far more reliably than the two they replaced, better speeds (virtually double link speeds) and they pair up fine with my remaining Netgear plugs.

This is a great piece of kit. Saved my hair by enabling my son to play on his xbox in his room which was a WiFi blacks pot.

Good product and works well makes for a brilliant internet solution in your home.
