No. I was just reporting on a similar design I have come across. This is nothing new.

So what were the differences in quality between this and the "British design"? I wonder if the intelligence services might be able to use you as you are able to decipher quality in materials from a picture compared to something you once saw many years ago.

I don't think that's fair. He saw a solid gold toothpaste squeezer at an Ideal Home exhibition. That's definitely a better quality material than plastic.

Seriously? Just grab the tube at both ends and run it along a tiled wall corner or edge of the table. Bosh....
SCOUSEKEVIN
24 Jul 16#29
Or put the tube on flat surface hold bottom of tube and run handle of toothbrush (pressing) towards top simple
and doesnt risk splitting tube by moving it across a flat edge.

If by putting money back into our economy is the same as making rich **** holes even richer. Then yeah it sounds like a great idea. Where do you think Argos get these? Brittish Bob down the street?

I pull the toothpaste tube from the sealed end tight against a sharp edge such as the shower screen (with the lid still on) until all the toothpaste is gathered at the opening end.
Only need to do it a couple of times and it gets every last bit out. Save 53p!

I'm thinking I may be a freak. I was born with one of these on the end of both arms. The plus side is, mine work with pump dispensers too. Downside: only comes in 'flesh' colour.
Another alternative for those not as freaky as me:
1. Buy an anvil.
2. Go to the top of a high building.
3, Throw the anvil over the edge of the building.
4. Buy one of the Toothpaste Squeezers above, and use it.
I've heard some people say that steps 1 to 3 can be omitted from the process. I've never tried it without steps 1 to 3 myself, so can't vouch for its effectiveness or safety.

Average tube of toothpaste costs £1.50 and lasts for about 4 weeks in our family
I'd say that on average, there's about 1% of the total paste left after giving it good squeeze with you hands.
Assuming that this contraption will leave each tube perfectly empty, it should pay for itself after about 35 tubes.
I highly doubt if this 53p piece of plastic will last 2.5 years.

Colgate Total feels clean and doesn't leave a bad taste. Everyone has their own preference of toothpaste, you have to use what works for you!

Heat added, not really worth it for the 1p worth of toothpaste that'll get saved, and yes, tubes can be used without mechanical devices, but for me, it's worth the meagre price just to keep toothpaste tubes off the sink (and invariably falling in when I try to shave).

25 Jul 16#46
Or use the side of the sink.
No rough edges, gets it all to one spot, then either fold over (metal) or use a freezer bag clip thing.

Hardly worth the effort if using run o' the mill Colgate or other brands all of which are available in Poundland.
However, if you use something like Colgate's Pro-Sensitive or similar top end brand special toothpaste, some of which have horrendous retail prices between £3.50 - £4.75 then, yes, could be worth a shot!
I use Pro-Sensitive but try to buy when on offer. To be honest, I cut the bloody tube open when it's supposed to be empty and find there's enough left for about 5 days! Mind you I don't cover my brush in it as I'm not a lover of sodium fluoride, even in the small quantities you are supposed not to worry about.
