The price drop on this one is fairly frequent but the trade in is tempting. My Navman S70 is 7 years old.....do I or don't I?

Don't. I had a Navman and I adored that thing....right up until it started dying - despite being plugged in, down the motorway. Turned itself off an on again - not a handy feature really when you're on the road. Traded mine in for a Garmin - never looked back. Tried a TomTom before the directions are hideous.

Mine's a Nokia 1020 Windows phone which has Nokia Here maps which a lot of folk on here seems to rave about. I myself hate it, its sent us off the beaten track and dead ended us so many times now I've lost faith in it. I see Waze is available on Windows phones but the reviews aren't great for the Windows app (looks like Google have stopped supporting it on windows)

You need to try waze.... Once you have you wont use anything else its near perfect

I don't think there's any trade in with this one. It's 20% trade in for Satnavs with the traffic feature only. Add this to basket and no trade in shows, but add a different one that is included in the offer, then the 20% discount shows on screen.

I used to use Google maps on my smart phone and now I've discovered I've got screen burn on my galaxy s5. Using a sat nav programme regularly with the screen on constantly will damage amoled screens. I've now bought a dedicated sat nav.

There is an app to fix screen burn on phones

Congratulations. Screen burn is specifically a problem for super amoled screens on phones. Anything displayed for long periods in the same place on the screen will create screen burn.

They just cause more damage by trying to burn the rest of the screen so it evens it up. It can make it far worse

i use phone for live traffic updates. don't think I'd buy a satnav again. good price though

I've tried Waze. It's good but it needs to include a offline mode if you don't want live reports on traffic etc. App maybe free but it uses data.

Wasn't just my TomTom that did that then. Sent me off all over the place, sometimes direct, other times maybe a couple of miles out of the way before it realised then rerouted itself.

It should do with no problems. Just go to Google play store and download it.

My Tom Tom is totally in a world of its own:
1) The roads around Birmingham Airport were changed over 2-3 years ago but it still shows me as driving through fields (Yes I regularly update it)
2) Often struggles to find a Sat Nav signal
3) If I leave it overnight in the car during the hot weather it will take a few hours before it can program a journey
4) Often keeps switching itself off and restarting getting stuck in the same on/off cycle so its useless
5) OF COURSE its outside the guarantee period
6) It actually jumped off the screen today while drive and the screen cracked.
Time for a different Sat Nav I think it wont be a Tom Tom.

I wish TomTom would let you pay a small fee to upgrade to lifetime maps. I have this very model but got it before lifetime maps were a thing. Crazy I'd be better off binning it and buying another than paying for yearly map updates.

Garmin no better. I've changed the first one while in warranty as would put me on a parallel road so instead of needing to go left, it would say right! Very very very frustrating. Now the new one seems to have dies within 6months-just a blank black screen.
My TomTom before also started playing up, but only after 3 years use. That's why I went for the Garmin Nuvi, but it's left me unimpressed.
Waze uses all my data.

I have given up on Waze. It started off well but in the end it was constantly giving me the longest routes to places which is what Google maps used to be like. Google maps have now sorted themselves out and are now better than Waze.

Waze navigation does not seem to be the best, I agree. For day-to-day commute I always have Waze since it will update trafic, accidents, police etc much faster and better than Google Maps will do. If I do not know where I am going though, I use Google Maps to find the route, check it against Waze and if necessary take diversions to force Google Maps to reroute around and issues. No problems so far, and rarely to never am I taken off the main roads!

Tomtom 20/25 are worst Sat Nav's ever.....takes ages to get a satellite lock and it's 50/50 if you do the online firmware update....if it fails during update it's gets into an unrecoverable boot loop.

25 Jul 16#28
To hard reset a Tomtom stuck in a loop keep the on/off button pressed down until it switches itself off and back on again (takes a few minutes but dont let button go when it seems to be "dead").
