We were looking for a new Fridge Freezer for our new house and couldn't find much below £190, however we came across this deal on Very. It was initially up for £219.99 and has been reduced to £129.99. I've checked the size measurements and it is slightly shorter than a traditional fridge freezer, however I believe it is still great value for money. They also have it in Black for the same price. Please note that P&P is on top of the price.

Don't forget Candy, I believe they are part of Hotpoint and the rest too. If you're looking for something bigger and frost-free, there was a good deal on a Hisense model the other day. I bought one and am very pleased with it. £229 at Argos with sloooow delivery or £10 more at 365electrical with next day delivery.
Swan isn't a real brand anymore, but in saying that I got a Swan dishwasher from Very a month or so ago, which does the job, the additional 4 year cover for it was £30 so if it breaks in a year or two, it doesn't really matter, and for the price, it does the job well enough.

I've been using my tumble dryer and it's completely fine. Followed the instructions to keep it clean and all is good. Propaganda by the media.

Swan brand is leased from French company, they are made in the UK. I got this in May for £119 and a further 20% off for a New account. Small but cheaper than many single under counter fridges or freezers.
I paid £30 for 4 years cover too.

Just got the samsung water dispenser one from currys for 324 seems the best fridge around for that price but it will last and has 5 year warranty

Let me know how that goes lol.
Samsung are aware of the fallacy of this five year guarantee programme and a lot of these are sold in the hope that the owner won't contact them for repairs.

Great price, tiny capacity.
our under the worktop integrated fridge is 156 litres. This fridge is 100l and freezer 50l. so combined it is smaller than our tiny fridge!
Also I would only purchase frost free (which I think is the same as auto defrost). This saves 2 days per year which you no longer have to spend defrosting the fridge / freezer. So well paying extra hundred or so for!

Oddly enough, Panasonic seem to now make the longest serving white goods. Don't ask me how, but working in white goods sales I have yet to have any of my customers having an issue with the Panasonic kit.
Not saying you are wrong for buying a Samsung btw, I just know from past experience how uppity they are over their 5 year warranty...

I bought swan fridge/freezer last year from very and i had nothing but trouble with it. Had it repaired few times then last week i rang to report it faulty again and they said i could pick a new one for the price i had paid for the swan. I put extra money towards a samsung. I am well happy with my new one.

The photos on the very website even show it in bachelor configuration with hennesy in the door pocket
In all seriousness I live on my own and have one of these fridge freezers . Its more than adequate for one person in my humble opinion .
I go to the meat market once a month and buy about 15kg of chicken breast , 2-3kg of beef mince and about 4 or 5 big steaks and I still have most if not all of the small drawer left in the freezer
this is the details in the manual for them

Candy are (or were) part of the same group as Hoover when they were UK based, but are both now owned by the Fumagalli family, Hotpoint is a totally different group and is one of the Merloni family brands, both are Italian owned lol white goods are big business in Italy apparently

Panasonic aren't much better with their warranty to be fair, (and just like Samsung) contract their after sales service to a smallish network of repairers, not their own dedicated team, parts aren't widely available either with lead times of several weeks waiting for a part to be shipped over from another country not uncommon!
Yes the appliances are great - when working lol - and they too offer five / six year warranties on their washing machines but what's the point when after sales is so patchy?

What does this comment mean in the reviews? "This fridge freezer will not work unless your house is 18 degrees or above. So in the winter months if you work through the day and only have the heating on in the morning and evening - it will not operate through the day. This product has a climate rating of Sub Tropical - I believe it should not even be sold in the UK as it is unfit for purpose!"
Bunglistik
18 Jul 16#41
I'm not sure what some parts of the review mean - "if you have the heating on...will not operate" - but sub tropical refers to the fact it is destined to work in hot climates overseas; why would they sell an appliance not designed to operate in the UK?
