Great price on Sony Xperia M4 Aqua £79 (you need to add top-up), used to be £130.

What's adb? I heard that after mm they weren't allowing. Is it easy to enable adaptable storage via xda developers. This phone has been ideal for os maps via mm tracker i have 2 and want a third but would want to use it as a daily driver but the restrictive app space makes this impossible
Sorry the phone app will not let me me edit my spelling mistakes above.
I mean appreciate other people might not have these problems.

I thought I would add into this.
I owned this phone for the last 6 months. I bought a z5 compact last week due to a number off issues with the phone.
I'm not going to vote cold even though I hate the m4 aqua cause the price ain't that bad. Please remember you pay for what you get.
The issues i have currently with the m4 aqua is, phone microphone only works on loudspeaker in calls, WiFi doesn't connect unless you open the WiFi setting menu where it then just happens to connect.
Phone overheats under normal strain ( I usually have the back light set at 75%) which adds to this problem
It overheats when being charged and leaves white staining on the back plastic as heat spots. The SD card mechanism failed and now only works as I have a small piece of paper wedged in to hold in place. The camera lens on the back cover can be easily scratched and has. This cause permanent lines on photos, but usually I get camera error most of the time when I try to open the app.
I was going to send back the phone to Vodafone last week for a repairs, but then the screen cracked after falling down the side of the seat in the car.
I got the z5 compact... Yeah alot more expensive than the m4 but really worth it. The build difference is Dat and night.
Sony were lucky I bought the z5 as my. Experience with the m4 aqua really put me off. Our of all the years of having numerous phones inc. Iphones I have never had any problems only ever with thia m4 aqua.
I approached other people may not have the issues I have had, but be aware of the build quality of this phone, it is nor great.
My 2 cents

As released adoptable storage is turned off, but you can enable it via adb. There is a guide on xda-developers. Only issue is incorrect reporting of free space in the storage interface, otherwise no problems.

I'm running marshmallow with adoptable storage, working great here, given the phone a new lease of life...

Where did you find mm with adoptable storage for this phone?
Out of the box the 8gb one after updates has right around 400mb available. It's a great device.. but unusable because of this.

Reviewers don't generally use phones for a long time, the storage is a real issue which sony could've alleviated somewhat with adoptable storage, but chose not to.
It already rolled out, but it's flawed

if only it had adoptable storage Sony seem to be holding this back from 6.0

It can be made to work, with a few issues.

Incorrect. Snapdragon 615 in these has a massive reputation for overheating.
Edit: Also, the power button on all of those devices is tiny. If doesn't feel as bad on the z3c because it is a smaller phone.

You made an assumption that I needed to own the phone to have an opinion about it, which is complete nonsense.
Seriously how many phone models do you want me to quote based on all the deals on this site?
Go look at the competition from:
Vodafone
Huawei
Multiple Chinese brands
Motorola
You're suffering technology bias due to the fact you've invested in the phone and are therefore hindered to consider objectively the purchase due to Ego getting in the way. "I have chosen therefore I'm right, there can't be any other reality". It's a psychological bias that the Chimp will persuade you to defend, know the Chimp, pacify him and put him to one side, then you can empathize receptiveness to other opinion. I'm willing to accede that you find the phone suitable for your requirements whilst I strongly state there's a massive amount of competition out there and any consumer should consider the alternatives. Whether I consider you mental or not for purchasing this phone is none of your business, then you afford yourself the permission to nullify the negativity you perceive from myself vis-a-vis a win for all.

Back your opinion up then, anyone can state anything, without facts its meaningless, the difference between our opinions is mine is backed up by the fact i own one, and have used one.
and the fact your quoting not a difference of opinions but the fact he made an assumption.. you also can't read very well it seems.

You definitely don't need to own an item to appraise it. I don't own most of the phones I've sold and tested over the years. No idea why this fallacy of ownership comes in to things.

If you do not own one, how can you state its not a good phone? in fact how can you state its a bad phone? your comment is backed by nothing but arrogance and ignorance, thats my point.

It's a brilliant phone, got one for a family member. I'd have one myself if Sony hadn't screwed up and made it with 8GB storage, of which under 2GB is usable before you even start putting apps on. It's a shame they ruined a good thing.

I bought this phone from vodafone at £125 a few months ago and it has been fine. £79 is a very good price for this device.
It does get warm on extensive use but nothing unbearable. The only downside is the 8GB.
Still worth it.
Also when I purchased it in store it came unlocked. Am using it with a Talk mobile sim, not sure if it's the same for all their stock.

Friend has one. Overheats like a ****. Battery life poor (at best). Power button to unlock is the smallest thing known to man. A good deal? Maybe. A good phone? Absolutely not.
Also a bad choice for Pokemon GO due to it overheating so much.

yours must be faulty my sons doesnt overheat, and the power button is the same as on the Z3 and Z3c so I think you are confused.
The Z5 has massive overheating problems, and that phone costs 6 times the price of this.

I said its great for Pokemon GO. my kid has this phone, and he 'walks' about with it, i of course bought him a protective case,
See my son is autistic, he isn't very 'sporting' so I can buy him all the footballs I want he ain't going to play with them, my other son has serious problem with his legs he can't move very far or very fast, so again sports aren't really in his capability, as such they are very reclusive due to the mocking nature of other kids and since a young age have basically learnt to be together play together and do so in their rooms on their myriad of technology consoles, PC, TV's etc..
but now that there is something they can do outside (with a little supervision), something that socially allows them to interact with their peers without the usual mocking and judgements they receive from more adept children, then why wouldnt I invest £100.00 into that?
the funny thing is its now the adults such as yourself, who smear and look down on them because they are doing something that others do not understand.. seems they cannot win, with snide comments from the uneducated.

This is a great phone for your kids wanting a Pokemon Go phone, doesn't have Gyroscope though so no AR mode, but other than that, its very good, has 2GB of Ram,
also one of few phones at this price point to be waterproof and also have NFC for android pay
I think if you look around too you will see it got very good reviews as a decent budget phone..
