They don't slip off your head??
I didn't know it was possible to be paralysed from the neck up.
Worse still I've never had on ears that required you to physically push the cans (albeit with lovely soft pads) into your head to get the seal required to drastically improve the sound quality. If you aren't prepared to sit in one spot cupping them to your head, then AVOID as they sound less than average at best.
If you do pin em to our head though they sound decent, with slightly better bass and clarity (but less warmth) than the excellent £10 JVC Flats...

Build quality is really excellent, two cables, very decent sound quality and they don't slip of my head like others have complained about. Got the white ones for £25 over a month ago very pleased with them.
AKG 451 were similar to these ie. again lacked the bass detail but they were tighter fit. I returned those too lol. Both are punchy in the mids and highs but i found could not listen to them for long periods

how would these size up as a gaming headset for ps4? Im not a professional gamer or anything but would like to replace the crappy sony earphones given with the console.

Check out Sennheiser HD 558s. They are tailored for watching multimedia, rather than music. Might be pricey but they are excellent.

Had these for a day but had to send them back as they were very loose. Wouldn't stay on my head at all.

I returned mine, build quality is great but disappointed with the bass. I compared it with my xb400 which had far more bass detail and just generally sounded better. I also tried the AKG451 which are quite similar to these 10RC

They're more suited for acoustic and jazz while the XB400 and AKG 451 are both good bass-heavy headphones. With that in mind I think the MDR-10RC are decent value for money.
