Was just about to purchase a Moto G4 Plus when I spotted this little beauty. Great specs and build quality for the money.
Dubious with some of the specs on Tesco's website which don't match those on the John Lewis site or GSMarena:

Finally pulled the trigger on this one and picked it up from Tesco today. Build quality is excellent but very slippery in the hand with the glass front and black. A transparent case is included together with headphones and screen cover.

Marshmallow is being rolled out on the Idol 3 at the moment so I would expect that the Idol 4 would get Android N next year.

The JL price match was 4 weeks ago when they were selling this phone for £249. JL then subsequently reduced the advertised price to £189. I have now edited the above post to reflect this.

If the headset doesn't gave any sort of button, you'll need a little Bluetooth controller of some sort to activate things once the phone is inside the housing.

So that will sell FA units then. £100 less and it would be a game changer, like the original smart ultra 6 which was soon available for £99.
After playing elite dangerous on my 1080p nexus 5x with my bobovr headset, my next phone will need to have 4k, and a better battery.

The Idol 4s is due to be launched in the UK in September. It has a 5.5" Amoled screen (1440 x 2560 pixels and 534 ppi) and a larger 3000 mAh battery. No price here as yet but on sale for $400 in the US.

Had this phone for almost 2 weeks now. Went form a Moto G 3rd Gen to this. Great phone and love the screen. Sound quality is really good for a phone. Used it with the VR headset a few days ago (first time trying VR). Very good experience but a little annoying to set up at first.
Having to turn on VR mode on the phone then carefully snapping it into the head without pressing anything and/or the flipping the phone the right way as it will take it out of VR mode.
Tried the pre installed bug lamp game which was ok for a few minutes. Then tried some VR video's which was amazing. I wanted to try a VR roller coaster game but for some reason I could not get it to work. It would load up but one inside the VR headset I could not do anything to start the game.

Yep an Alcatel with very decent reviews and spec. Amazing. But will they cut the mustard over time. Remains to be seen so jurys gotta be out on this one. Those brave enough to chance their £200 (approx) can feed back in due course.

Qualcomm MSM8952 Snapdragon 617 <--- worth about £99 at most.
I personal go nowhere near the SD6xxx unless it's the >= SD652. This is the minimum for a 1-year of hardware future proofing.
