Great price for a recent, well-reviewed action thriller.

It's got good reviews because it's a cut above the usual Hollywood dross. You have to think to appreciate it, it's morally ambiguous, does not have a happy ending, and is quite dark. If you enjoy it I suggest checking out the director's previous which is Prisoners. A better film than Sicario imo - even darker, even more morally ambiguous. And currently only £2.96 new (DVD) or £3.33 (Blu-ray used) on Amazon.

I know the reviews for this film have been great and I know that lots of critics said it's a great film.... However, I have pretty low standards for films and this was far far far below even that. It's the first film I've seen in a long time that was so terrible it actually made me angry. A few weeks after I saw it, a guy came into work visibly agitated saying he saw this film the night before and had never been more wound up by its terribleness adn had made the leap to signing up with IMDB jus tto give a zero rating to counter all the 10s it's got. It's so bad it's difficult to put your finger on it but we even loved that Benito guy and still couldn't redeem it.
I'm sure this is a good price but please consider yourself warned. sooo baddddd.

I have to agree, I don't know how it's gotten such great reviews.

Whilst some aspects are bit annoying like the naivety at times of Emily Blunt's character, I enjoyed the film and rate it as good. However I am curious as to why you rate as bad.

Sicario's not only a great, cerebral, edgy suspense/action thriller, it's the first of a trilogy.

I thought Sicario was superb but I see why some people disliked it. Emily Blunt isn't really the main character by the end ad it becomes about Del Toro. Like the other guy said Prisoners is well worth a watch, tough film to get through but utterly superb in every way and another showcase for the amazing Roger Deakins.

Good price but got to echo some of the comments. There are very few films I have been unable to sit through to the end but I just couldn't do it with this one cos I was just plain BORED. Liked Prisoners though so it's not because I can't handle a "thinking" film! Honest.

Yeah not very good, I watched it but kept checking clock thinking when's this **** going to end. I was recommended to watch by someone...but i found it slow and boring, dark and abit pointless.

Everyone has their opinions but it was the best film of the year for me. If you like dark, gritty drama with a touch of action this is for you.
Worth every penny of £7!

I enjoyed this, especially the beginning road move into THAT place. It was nearly real time, I felt like I might as well have in convoy with them!

Decent film.
The "what's going on" is meant to be a valid response from the viewers as that's what the main character is going through.
There is a bit of a jump from the confusion to the tunnel scene but it all makes sense if you watch it carefully. The Juarez scene was a favorite.. So much tense.

Subjective tastes and all, but it's an incredibly intense film and I left the cinema feeing like I'd been put through the wringer and talked about it for days afterwards. The performances are exceptional - Blunt in particular is a terrific lead as the idealistic rookie - and I personally find drug cartel films far more terrifying than horror films for their basis in reality. Oh, as the score is extraordinary.
It deserves every positive review it's had and then some.

Dreadful but I honestly don't know where to start. Probably the plot and the stupidity of the characters. Plus it's such a serious issue, Central and south america have been ravaged by US hegemony. Such a sad state of affiars and I was keen for a good film to help highlight the reality of what the drug trade has done to society in those countries when the execution of the film was actually so flat and superficial as to be insulting. I actually paid to watch this in the cinema but I had to watch two good films aftewrads. One to cancel out the crapness of this and another one to well get back into a positive balance.
It's just a film though, if you enjoyed it, great, no biggie, just get on with your life. No reason to ruin a good memory. I've started watching peaky blinders recently and that's pretty impressive. 'The road' was a really great film but very dark. Se7en is one of my favourite films of all time.
Thing is the plot isn't that far from reality. I can well believe the CIA chose the least worst Cartels to deal with. Some bits are a bit far fetched the corruption of the local police is well known. I don't personally agree with your view but each to their own though. Narcos is one of many good books providing background.
