Funnily enough, I saw this earlier on eBuyer. Once if read some reviews, I moved on very quickly. It's a reasonable deal if you're just looking at it as a cheap 4k , largish TV. Evidently bit do good as a gaming monitor. I think it deserves some warmth, maybe not quite heat though?

So, anyone actually got one of these and actually use it for it's function ie as a TV? And is it any good as a TV?
But you did mention it, and didn't want anybody to mistakenly think that such a feature would even be beneficial on a 1080p set.

the main subject is not the 1080p tv, lol

HDMI 2.0 on a 1080p set?
Never seen one myself as it would not be required.

I've had one of these for a year now - this price is good, but it's down to this price every few months, so nothing exceptional.
People say that 30hz is the problem - it's not the problem, it's the input lag at 4K. I use mine for programming, and it's okay for that purpose, but it feels like there's half a second input lag (I believe it measured to ~330ms), which makes it impossible for anything that requires reactions, and just very annoying for anything else. I would not use this as my primary monitor, simply browsing is a nuisance on this, but it's great when you've found what you need, and then throw that window/application on this monitor
I would NOT buy this monitor now, since you can get HDMI2 ones for not much more, hopefully some of them with less input lag (notice, if you google for this TV, notice that there's a US version and a UK version, you cannot firmware update this to reduce input lag.)

Quite possibly.
All depends on just how good it is and useful it would be for a given users prospective 4K requirements.

then a 1080p tv would be a far better choice

But not necessarily for TV, which is what this is primarily for.

all people is asking how good they are for pc use and apart from that I cannot see any other use. This one would really be pathetic for pc use @30hz

It depends on what you are using it for.
Much of what we watch is within the range of the HDMI port.
4-4-4 for video really isn't an issue.
So if somebody wanted something that will do a job today for most TV watching requirements that they can get rid of in 18 months or so, then it will be fine.
Far from useless for most people and cheap.
What it's actual viewing quality is could well be a different thing but hopefully there will be enough realistic reviews to say, not the reviews that seem to have expected the same specs as a model 5 times it's price.

Not big enough to be useful as a 4k TV and only 30Hz via HDMI 1.4, so fairly useless as a PC monitor. There's a reason this is less than £200; it's practically useless to most people.

Early adopter junkware.
No use as a PC monitor (see comments above) unless you like a horribly laggy screen.
No HDMI 2.0.
And at 39", you'd have to sit about a foot from the screen to actually appreciate the extra resolution.
Why do you think they're practically giving them away?
lol ..... just watch it accumulate heat purely due to being cheap and 4k. Even though, in reality, it's garbage.

This is HDMI 1.4. 30Hz on 4K. So essentially if you plan to use it to display ONE picture at 4K all the time, it should be OK. Anything else (image editing, browsing, playing games, watching movie) at 4K is marred by lag. Either go for a DisplayPort monitor or one with HDMI 2.0

got one to use as a 4k monitor, input lag when using it as a monitor is horrendous. dont buy if you want it for a PC. mines sitting in my spare room used once. Anyone reading this is more than welcome to it for £120 if they can collect from newcastle. Not a patch on samsung/sony/proper PC monitor

That doesnt seem promising but ebuyer tells me its a 6.5ms response time which would be fine, not really an easy way to test that though is there (as i dont have a CRT kicking about)?

It says it has 3 x HDMI 1.4... I believe HDMI 2 now exists.... Does 1.4 mean ultra HD could come from eg Amazon FireTV box, a BT YouView Ultra HD box,..... Etc..... Or is HDMI 2 required for any of these?
Thanks OP

It's not a full 4K TV.
It will support 4K up to 30hz only, not the full fat 60 (HDMI 2.0 is required for that)
