Just popped into my local Screwfix to collect an order and noticed these 12 pack of AA alkaline batteries are reduced to £1.99 per pack. Available to order and collect free of charge.

If you have a pound land local they always stock the Kodak Xtralife which are very good alkaline batteries, usually have them in sets of 6 or 8 for £1. AA and AAA. Also stock other sizes but pack size varies obviously.

I know what you mean but there's cheap and then there's cheapo. These are cheap - it's the cheapo ones that should be avoided!
If you prefer something more expensive Screwfix have the same batteries in 4 pack also £1.99.
