Fairly average price tbh. Don't get me wrong it's a perfectly good deal just saying the price is usually around this anyway

I'm looking for a couple of 64gb drives but was put off these by the negative comments on Amazon - not voting either way but price is £1 - £2 above average.

Which comments put you off? Amazon reviews regarding flash drive performance can be misleading as there is a huge number of variables that affect performance so I'd recommend checking legit review sites instead. Comments regarding build quality can often be perfectly valid and useful though.

Can you name the review sites that you mention?

Got one of these during their Amazon Prime day this week. Quite disappointing if I'm honest, average was around 20-25mb/sec write speed on the same port and file that can do 75-90mb/sec on another USB 3.0 of mine. Build quality feels quite flimsy and light. For £9.99 (64GB) it's just OK, wouldn't pay anymore though.

I would usually look for specific reviews of the particular drives I was looking at from any number of reputable review sites like Tweaktown, Anandtech, Techradar etc.
For raw performance comparisons you can see benchmark lists like http://usb.userbenchmark.com/
Also some of the 'Top 10 list' type reviews might be helpful to make you aware of the good ones you didn't know about.
Hope that helps

Great - thanks for that.
I'll give it a go. Need to back up a new PC before the Win 10 deadline occurs :disappointed:

No problem.
Yeah definitely a good plan to backup before you upgrade, the switch to Windows 10 can be a real pain at first. I got there in the end ....although that was after 2 fresh installs which kinda defeats the object of an 'automatic upgrade' lol

Why do you need to backup before the Win 10 deadline occurs?
I know the deadline is July 29th to upgrade from Win 7 / 8 etc. Am I locked to Win 10 after this date?

Sorry - what I meant to say was that I have a new PC running W8 that I need to back up before I "upgrade" to W10.
As for you being locked in to W10, I think that you can set it back to whatever you were running before the upgrade but you need to talk to someone much more knowledgeable than me to sort that out !!
