And????
There are a lot of determining features on TVs that warrant price being higher/lower just saying there is a 'bigger' one frankly means nothing whatsoever!

In fairness there are quite a few similar sized TVs cheaper. My wife wanted a Samsung as she prefers their SmartTV interface though i know its not everyone's cup of tea either!
The cheapest option for a big TV is probably still Hisense i guess..
Seemed cheap to me as a Samsung tellybox

This is good. I actually purchased this from Groupon this weekend... for £879. I think it was the same. This is still a very good price. My brother-in-law got the 55" version, and it is really good.

I just double-checked, and that deal has gone from groupon.

The 65 seems to be the exact same TV but bigger.
The 60 has USBs and a higher "PQI" (never know how this actually translates to hz) but the 65 does seem to beat it.

Had both side by side in Currys at Fosse Park a few weeks ago... we were advised to stay clear of anything with a PQI of < 1000... they don't translate directly into Hz but that was the shop assistants advice.
Manufacturers have apparently made up their own indexes to avoid direct comparisons between brands, which for a consumer is entirely unhelpful.

Indeed. The last one I had to get for someone *had* to have 400hz.
But I found it... cant find it again... but it was a brilliant website that translated all the manufacturer made up nonsense ones. There are so many!!
But good to know that 1,000 is the marker for Samsung.

Good price but I wouldn't be surprised to se a 65" of similar characteristics in Black friday for £200 less. I don't need a TV right now, but am always on the lookout, and I would wait. I think you can get a better deal if you do.

keep your hair on, I'm trying to help others out who maybe after a bigger and cheaper 4k tv
fRostiE07
5 Jul 16#12
Yeah, we decided to go with the slightly higher PQI, in the hope that looked a little bit sharper... did consider it though.
When measured up next to each other there is a difference, obviously, but not as big a jump as when you go from 55" to 60":
Hopefully its the right thing for some people, the variety of brands, features and deals out there I'm sure its not the best fit for everyone!

Does this have HDR? pointless buying a 4K TV without it
fRostiE07 to Change_Me
5 Jul 16#14
No, it does not. The equivalent Samsung 60" with HDR is £1,699 (from curry's)
Uridium to Change_Me
5 Jul 161#15
Not at all....yes HDR is nice but a decent 4K TV without is still going to offer a nice picture and the 2015/2016 Samsungs have a cracking scaling chipset...

Have to sort of agree. HDR is basically the key feature of buying a UHD TV. It'll be on everything within 12 months but there is two competing standards, it's not the greatest time to pickup 4K sets.

My hair is firmly on  but putting up totally non-informative posts essentially saying the OPs post was bettered by a 'bigger' TV elsewhere without any further details was totally pointless!

great price congratulations on first deal. this TV is not the best spec.I personally would go for something a a bit smaller for the same sort of money with better specs. and when spending this sort of money. a must is a 5 year warranty
Uridium to tomkat
5 Jul 16#26
It has a 5yr warranty....says this in the specifications tab.
I have the lower spec 55JU6400 model....Replaced an Amazing VT Series Panasonic plasma that I thought was the business as I've always loved Plasma image quality...
The Samsung is the better of the Panasonic in every way. SD/HD both better and the 4k image quality is just stunning.
Don't underestimate the quality of the scaler in the current Samsung range...

These probably hot HDR via a recent software update.
Check AV forms these versions get quite a lot of complains about backlight bleed. Not all panels are made by Samsung, could be this size is ok but 55 and 65 definitely had issues.

Hmmmm, advice from Currys is an oxymoron.
I saw someone advised to buy an £80 HDMI cable to connect a soundbar to a TV in a Currys the other day.

You will buy this today only to find out it's half the price during Christmas sales

Hot!
SAMSUNG all the way for me! They make the best screens period, even Sony are using their screens on some of their models!
A customer service consultant at Currys once told me LED TVs have a very different display technology to LCD TVs. I did try to explain that the difference was only in the backlight, but he crossed his arms and gave me 'the look'.
As Mark Twain once said 'Never argue with a Currys salesman. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience'.
I deftly made my exit.

Is it possible to confirm if this TV has HDR for definite?
Thank you for your reply, I've just been spending ages googling and can't actually find anyone with the TV that has said the firmware update has def happened?

This list is a bit out of date but a good reference for some of the models we might see on sale.
