Edit (reduced for the time being - from 184.99 to 180.59 - every little helps).

Look likes a cheapest ever price from Amazon. Might interest those who missed out on the Sony SW3 and Moto 360 Sport Offer.

Apps seem naff but a nice all rounder and decent price.
Knowing Amazon pricing might not stick at this price long.

Great watch but go for the classic the straps on these are rubbish and break easily. Samsung even tried to fob me off with physical damage absolute rubbish. The watch itself is good for the money decent battery but overall I wouldn't have another smart watch pretty pointless.

Love my Gear S2 Classic. I would agree go for the classic over the standard.

Possible repost from the thread I edited here?
After having it a month, it's a good watch for all uses.
The Gear S2 uses the Tizen operating system and environment rather than Android Wear. Technically it is better that Wear and the bezel navigation is a great idea, but I'm not convinced that it'll last. You are relying on a companion app on the phone to support it. Samsung don't have a great track record with supporting legacy platforms once they decide it's a dead end, and they change their mind very frequently. Also, the user base isn't anywhere near as big as Wear, so don't expect many apps for it.

That's what I'm contemplating too, love the classy look of the W1 but also like the sport look of the S2 as I'd be using it for fitness as well as daily use.

4 pm you could get Garmin Fenix 3 for £215. For me the best smart watch.

I have a fenix 3. Replaced my Sony Smartwatch 3. So much better. I can't see me going back to a proper smartwatch. 6 day battery life Yay.

Sorry, off topic, but is the Fenix 3 available at this price somewhere right now? Or did you get it in a sale? I would snap one up for £215...

If you're on android the samsung gear app works the same on all the phones.
If you're on iOS the gear app isn't officially out yet, but I'm testing it on the iphone and it's a lot more limited, basically limited to free watch faces and basic apps.
So far I've tried a couple of android wear watches (LG G Watch, Moto 360), the apple watch and I've owned or still own almost all the watches pebble make, so far the Gear S2 is the best all rounder smart watch I've owned, I get a couple of days battery life out of it and it has pretty much the same functionality as android wear / apple watch OS and it's cross platform compatible (if you have the gear ios app)
