1920 x 1080 on 27" not good on a monitor.

sigh another moronic assumption,
Resolution is the only thing to consider is it? you sound like those who want 24MP camera to put photos on facebook.
I have a MBPr right now and I used to have a and XPS L502x with prob the best 1080p screen ive used but I cant say my photo editing has gotten any better.

Its got nothing to do with gaming, a monitor at 27 using 1440 res offers better text and picture quality, its sharper. 27inch monitor at 1080 res, everything looks zoomed, blurry, more pixelated. This monitor is £149.99 for a reason and thats exactly it.
You are not going to have 24inch monitor running 800 × 600 screen res are you? For exactly the same reasons.

I've a 1080p 27" and it seems as sharp as the 24" it replaced...both asus...

So I have a 27 inch monitor that is 1080p and I love it.. whats your point? Of course the higher the resolution the better but you have to take in the price and the person use... 1080p is great for gaming and for some people their graphics card won't be able to handle it. 1080p is a good spot for gaming.

16 Jul 16#9
If you can't see my point then you shouldn't bother replying. You can get 27inch monitor at 1080 res for cheaper than this.

16 Jul 162#10
That isn't what you stated, merely '1920 x 1080 on 27" not good on a monitor'.
Given I only own a gtx 980...why would I want any more than 1080p?

I understand the point. But most people have had bigger tvs that are 1080p? Is it more important with monitors than pcs?
malachi to DE4L3R

TVs and computer monitors scale pictures differently from each other. That's why you don't see people use TVs as monitors even though TV's are cheaper then the monitor size comparison.

It has a lot to do with gaming if you do that on your pc...I couldn't take the fps hit at ultra settings...like I said I went from 24" to 27" and didn't notice any issue from the slightly larger pixels...

If you couldn't see my point then you shouldn't have replied to me. Monitors range at different prices and resolutions, your statement was that why would you get a 27 inch 1080p monitor, you did not mention about pricing. I am saying that people have different uses for monitors, some for gaming and some for photo editing for example. For simple gaming, for many people... 1080p is a good resolution. I have a 1080p monitor for gaming and I absolutely love it.

I have 1080 AND 1440 27" monitors, and whilst I'd generally prefer the added sharpness on the 1440, the 1080 is absolutely fine. It all depends on how important these things are to you, how good your eyesight is, and obviously how much you can afford or would like to spend on a screen?

You're comparing 1080p 15" screens to a 1080p 27" screen.
The only thing I'd use a 1080p 27" monitor is for console games.
For pc use you need to go 1440p at that screen size otherwise pixellation will be obvious.
Maybe because this is pc gaming and the 980 can handle 1440p just fine. Turn down a few of those useless features + AA and you're easily hitting 60 in the majority of games.

The monitor is 120hz and i'd rather have higher fps than higher resolution...

Fair enough. If you're happy then I suppose that's all that matters.
I imagine I'd would be painful dropping to 60hz :stuck_out_tongue:. Plus those 1440p 144hz panels are pretty expensive to say the least.

I looked at this for my ps4 £150 for the monitor and £30 for some speakers as it a headphone out and no
inbuilt speakers.
I watched a youtube video on the 24" version and it suffered from a backlight bleed and a screen glow effect
common to pls and ips screens.
So I looked at the Samsung UE32J5100 for £199 and its a cracker, its £20 more than the monitor speaker combo
but you get 5 inches more (ooo errr) 2 hdmi and can watch tv on it.
I set my ps4 to full rgb and hdmi black level to normal and set the hdmi input to pc to get full chroma 4:4:4. and less lag.
Hope this helps

Could we not get into arguments about what's better or say things like "for pc use you need...", etc etc. And don't use the word "need," for a start... Let people do whatever they want with their money! It just comes off as condescending and judgmental when you belittle people's hardware choices.

Some people do feel the need to 'have an opinion' on things like this. Ultimately it comes down to where a pc monitor sits in your list of priorities, what you actually need, and what you can afford. There is no right and wrong. Maybe just a bit of friendly user advice is needed in cases like this?

Can any one suggest is it the better deal for 149.99 coz itdoesnt have usb port for pen drive to watch movies etc
it doesn't have built in speaker
only good thing is brand Samsung reliable for good quality and full HD.
suggestions welcome if I still go ahead and buy inthis price....

If you're connecting it to a computer then why would you want to connect a USB drive directly into the monitor? Just plug it into your computer and open with media player of your choosing.
