I'm expert at detailing and can vouch that this will detail your car with lovely swirlies. Simply use a Brillo pad to add some deeper scratches for a more layered scratched up look.

Depends how fancy your car is if your gonna use one of these. If your sensible with it, apply soft pressure and your car isn't brand new or a precious classic then one of these is an easier and more convenient way to wash your car than a sponge or a microfibre mit. I have one of those mits, can't say I found it any better than a jumbo car sponge, infact it's worse in my opinion as you can't push it down and apply as much pressure when removing stubborn dirt or bird droppings. I also use drive through car washes, and they are fine as far as I am concerned.
If I ever get a Maserati then maybe I will worry and treat it with only the finest products and methods, but for my 11 year old Subaru that has the odd mark on it, this brush, a sponge and a bucket of warm water and simoniz car wash will suffice. Oh, and a dustpan brush and a bottle of "Elbow Grease" for my wheels.

A microfibre mit is a good place to start.

I bought mine yesterday and yes it does leak.I have used it to clean the conservatory but not using the water feed.I use a bucket of water with washing up liquid in and rinse with hose.Price is right just for the brush but plastic joints soon loosen and unscrew.I suppose if you wanted a quality similar product you would have to pay £50 +.

Are the bristles soft? Could you use them for cleaning windows?

I wouldn't go anywhere near my car with this unless I wanted to scratch it.
