There is an issue with the quality of these: build quality looks ok but the backlight LED's just die =
9 LED's stopped working.
Will return to scan and hopefully I can get a refund because the internet is rife with posts from people experiencing the same issue with this model.

Mine arrived from Amazon and whilst I haven't plugged it in yet I'm unsure on whether or not I shall keep it.
The keys have a lot of resistance, need to travel a fair amount to actuate and it feels a little awkward.
I'll probably keep it in the short term while I see if I can get a decent deal and return it to Amazon if/when the lighting issue hits me, or sell for similar cash.

I voted hot as It's a cracking deal but I returned mine today after writing a couple of paragraphs on it.
I liked the customisation options, programmable keys and plethora of lighting options and levels. It has a very good, solid, quality feel and for the intended audience this keyboard is probably 5 stars. I didn't mind the integrated palm rest and whilst it is not a small keyboard it's not too big. That said, I returned it.
I bought it to use as my main keyboard and not for gaming. The keyboard is advertised as a gaming keyboard and so perhaps I should not have expected it to be good for general use. I'm a developer and spend a large part of my day typing. I found that the cherry black switches in combination with relatively high keys made typing difficult. The keys need to be pushed quite far to register and when typing fast some key presses were lost. I found that this could be resolved by bottoming out but then I found my fingers would catch the top of other keys. To be fair this might be a question of getting used to the keyboard but it did not feel natural to me.

I've made a request via Flubit if Amazon are doing it for £56 I might be tempted. Happy their CS would mitigate the risk of a dud!

Amazon have reduced price to £56.55.
Have ordered from Amazon for CS in view of the LED failures mentioned.
Many thanks OP

Quite possibly may be lucky, 2 of my mates have got one each and they have also had them a while with no problems, bearing in mind there are a lot of good reviews too but seems like the only issue some people have had are lighting issues but even they state the keyboard is very good. I paid £130 originally for the keyboard and I have bought another since my last comment at the above price. I am not bothered if light go out at that price !! It's quality that I'm after especially when tried and tested myself.

Probably no resistors at all, pwm to control the voltage.

And forgot to mention no led light problems at all !!

I have had this keyboard for a very long time, don't know where the bad reviews are coming from but I have put it through hell with my gaming and everything else in that matter & I am now definitely buying another one at that price  heat from me amazing keyboard.

Stop being so dismissive of a highly frequent issue. Go research the issue before calling everyone an idiot, otherwise guess who looks the idiot?
The ESD shielding is problematic so unless you want to continually be faced with warranty RTB claims, or a keyboard that doesn't work as it should I'd be tempted to steer clear.
FYI Corsair started out their Renegade line with the same LED mounting and later switched to top mounted LED because high failure rates.

Slightly off topic, would a Roccat user be so kind as to talk me through creating a macro or bind in the Talk software to Bind an Mkey to W (held down).
I've struggled and struggled with this one. Just want to have something like auto-walk for DayZ. Easy on other programmable keyboards, havent managed on a Roccat yet. Thanks!

Because the wrist rest is almost as big as the keyboard itself, and not everyone has so much space on their desk. I use a separate wrist rest for my keyboard, which feels more ergonomic in my opinion as it is made of a jelly-like material, instead of a flat sheet of plastic. Concerning "It wouldn't make this any bigger than any other keyboard with a wrist rest", here's how my setup looks like:
Options are always good.

Decent price for a Chinese board, and Roccat generally have decent QC. Non-standard bottom row means aftermarket caps won't fit, just so people are aware.

Yup it didn't helped it's a very common problem read about it on reddit or anywhere else, it's not only with these keyboards, some corsair models are known to have identical problem. It's because some manufacturers are still using outdated technologies and the keys are not protected against static shock which eventually kills them. The reason I am not amazingly fussed is that I got this keyboard for £17 from warehouse deals. Some of the keys can be seen as lighter colour than others meaning that they are in a process of dying.

It seems that some manufacturers have not been careful with the current limiting resistors installed on the boards. I think they have just been changing LED colours without defining resistor changes to their fab partners in china.

LEDs are failing on this practically on every keyboard, once they start failing they continue to fail until the very last one. Lost around 20 keys already.

Wow... sounds very unusual. Surely that would have something to so with the controller chip or some kind of loose connection. LEDs normally have a very long life span so for that many to go there's something wrong.

Bought this last time it was posted about 8 months ago I think and love it. No problems with LEDs for me so far. It was a lot smaller than my last mechanical keyboard but it's a good usable size.
Edit: Apologies I got the tkl version (tenkeyless) with cherry browns, that's why it was smaller lol (Just checked )

Well, that's Amazon customers for you. These are people who complain about swearing in songs and that "I wasn't told this contains foul language" when the listing clearly has "Contains Explicit Lyrics" on it. They're not the brightest bunch. Best option is to try one out at PC World maybe - if they have this one in.

Been looking at this for a few days and trying to decide whether to buy.
Up until now I haven't as my research led me to find:
-Multiple (dozens) of reports of backlight LED failing, some to the tune of one a week.
-Non-removable wrist rest, apparently it makes the keyboard massive.
-Non-dedicated media keys.
-Some comment of general typing and word processing being less than optimal, though gaming is a good feel.
Almost all of the comments I read said that the Corsair Renegade line was better - though refurbs start at £70-80.
Anybody have first hand experience of this? I remain reticent to blow £100 on a keyboard.

I don't know why anyone would ever NOT have a wrist rest on a keyboard these days. I couldn't possibly imagine the discomfort and annoyance of my hands constantly dropping off the edge of a keyboard whilst I'm typing or gaming. It wouldn't make this any bigger than any other keyboard with a wrist rest. And if you value your ergonomics you'd never buy a keyboard that doesn't have one.

The keyboard is large but not the biggest ice seen, if you are used to compact keyboards, then it is large. i have a small computer desk and it fits on the shelf and I could fit a mouse besides, but I use a large mouse pad on the desks top anyway.
Black switches are not good for word processing due to their stiffness, I haven't found it a problem, but I type for a living so have strong fingers.
No dedicated multi-media keys, but you have programmable macro and thumb keys, with different profiles, so I don't see why people just don't set those up as media keys and use the profile switching. Or just use the pre existing windows shortcuts?
Its down to personal taste really, this is very much a "gaming" keyboard. Corsair renegade series are better if the form suits you.
Edit; I can't speak to the failures and I don't want of blame user error, but I had a light go out on me and I just reset it in the options., I think some people are too quick to throw a hissy and not look for a solution, hence why I take all Amazon reviews with a pinch of salt.
Edit 2; I just checked and every single key is programmable and it has symbols for as well as the default windows keys programmed, so I don't understand why anyone would need dedicated media keys.

I'm not saying it's personally a negative as I don't own it. I'm citing the many on Amazon that have noted it is of detriment to their experience.
Personally I dislike the idea of an integrated rest, it removes choice.

Looks like excellent value for money... 50 macros, x2 USB ports, backlit. No idea what MX blacks are like but big thumbs up from me.

Cherry blacks are higher resistance and spring back faster, so for gaming (especially for games with alot of keys bound around WASD) and if you are a little clumsy or smash the keys abut anyway like me, they are IMO better than Red switches. Though its horses for corses.

Seems a good price.
I'm unsure if I should go with black switches, red switches or browns. Not seeing/hearing much difference between those three.
