I bought the same bike with Sora a couple of weeks ago when they were doing it for £50 less and am really pleased with it. Very light bike, so easy to ride.
£50 for the upgraded gears sounds OK. There are better gears in the range but not at this price. Great deal.

looks like they upgraded the frame to a new mould HF83

The deal posted here has expired and the new deal is better spec and more expensive.

Why sell a bike without pedals??

Because people have their own preference??

Have you seen how many different types of pedal there are? As masterbruce says, riders have their own preferences, for example I use to toe clips instead of cleats and there are big pedals, small pedals, lollipop pedals...

Yes... It will be really difficult to use it, fully agree

Not making fun of you but no idea about all these. I just know there's something called pedals to move cycle forward

I was so tempted to cold this based on Ribble themselves but as its not based on the company I will vote hot for the price.
Sorry, I had an absolute nightmare with Ribble.

the difference between tiagra 4700 and 105 5800 is £30 ... would that not be worth the uprated brakes and extra cog?

Having just got my first carbon bike I am seriously impressed with how much the frame soaks up road buzz compared to aluminium frames.
This price is ridiculous! Hope Ribble do a ridiculous bike of the week on the R872 as I may not be able to keep my wallet closed...

If you really have to unpick my statement, then yes, you're absolutely right. Brake pads on 5800 are better.
And what I'm stating is my own opinion based on experience. Reviews will always portray more expensive gear as better. It's been like that for years.
In terms of performance I agree, the gap has narrowed. In my opinion to a single cog.
People who whant 11 gears will pay extra. But an extra gear (and a boos in ego) is all they're getting:)

Are you really suggesting that Tiagra 4700 is better quality than 105 5800?
All the reviews and comments I've read suggest that the gap between 4700 and 5800 is fairly narrow, but they all agree that 5800 is better. And by any stretch of the imagination, the one piece Tiagra brake pads can't be described as better quality than the cartridge set up on 5800.

Tiagra group set is about £230 so a good deal...mind I'd be looking to upgrade the wheels/tyres as the ones fitted are very basic.

Nothing wrong with R501 at that price, or under £750-1K to be honest.

This is insane price for this quality bike. The new Tiagra 4700 is better quality than 105 (but with less gears).
Upgrade wheels and you have a top notch sportive machine.
Tiagra is significantly better than Sora, very good deal.
