Argos eBay outlet has the Regatta Survivor 65 Litre Rucksack for just £17.99. I found relatively good reviews from a few places online although 1 or 2 on the Argos website had a few problems with it. I've got this, or very very similar Karrimor version for commuting on my motorbike. Can hold plenty of stuff including my laptop in its own standard bag

I'd never buy a cheap pack, the harness systems are invariably poor making that one you've got a few kilos in it, you'll feel it and it'll soon become very uncomfortable, if not painful.
But hey, if this is just to stuff a few things in for a festival, or the furthest it's ever going to be carried is from the car park to your room, then go right ahead. Each to their own.
