Looks like a bit of a glitch when going through the mobile version of the Ubisoft store. Price says £14.99 but when you add to basket, it takes a further 50% off making this a bargain.
You can get an extra 20% off if you have 100 U points in your Uplay account, these points are accumulated by earning certain achievements in games. You have to click on the link on the store page where you'll have the option to redeem the points for a 20% off voucher, which knocks a little more off the cost.
Get it bought if you have enjoyed the free weekend.
I have it for the Xbox One but I'm having it on my PC for this price.
**Standard physical versions on PS4 & Xbox one also same price - free with shipping over £20** - NeoTrix
Updated title, ps4 & Xbox one showing as same price on standard versions - There are shipping costs but could work out okay if you're getting other things too.

Remember as well that there's an extra 20% off if you have 100 U points. you have to click on the link and you redeem it like a reward and it gives you a promo code.

Help....any advice please from PC gamers. My son wants this game to play on his PC. He says that Uplay gaming has a lot of lag, were as Steam gaming does not suffer any lag. Unfortunately the Steam price is £14.99. Is he correct, is Steam better with no lag or Uplay with lag? Any views guys?........

Both the same. I'm level 124 in this game. Also don't waste your money on the season pass.

The steam version literally just boots up the game in uplay. So either way you're running through uplay.

Thanks OP. I will now try out the free weekend trial on Steam and decide tomorrow

no difference for this game because even when buying it on steam, it forces you through Uplay as well. tell him not to believe all the master race nonsense

Thanks guys for your comments, he is a serious gamer and when he plays Ark Survival on Steam he really goes 'off on one' when he gets any lag in the gameplay.....although the comedy value that it gives to me and the wife is so funny!

well playing ARK you will get lag all the time, that game is horribly optimised and is not Steam or any other clients fault.

You need to explain to your son that games bought via steam, do not play on steam servers. Steam is a digital distribution service created by Valve. Valve made games like half life, and portal, but they do not provide servers for the games sold via steam. so it makes no difference whether you buy a game through steam, origin or Uplay, the game will play on the servers provided by the developer or publisher or the game. the other lag he may refer to is low frame rate, which will be down to the hardware in the machine, and again buying through steam will not improve anything.

Does anyone know due to me using the same uplay account for the ps4 version and now the PC version , will my level carry across to my PC version , or will I be starting right back at Level 1 ???

Played this last night on Steam free weekend and just noticed uplay 75% off for both standard and gold. Got 120 points too so might use it up for 20% off. Question is, is the season pass worth it? Someone commented above that it is not....

I got the season pass and while I understand it's not the greatest value (though, I only paid a tenner), it does stop you from having to spend 10-15 hours of playing/winning of games to collect renown (the currency) needed to unlock a single season pass operator. There will soon be 6 of them, with more to come. That's upwards of 90 hours of play before you can unlock those 6. And that's not counting the original 24 operators that, overall, require 20K renown.
Save some time and just spring the cash for the Gold edition. It's so worth it at £13.79, never mind the 20% discount from Uplay points that would bring it down to £10.99 or so!!

I played on ps4 with the standard version, no season pass required really, season pass just opens up all the operators (character choice) where as standard version you need to earn each character, I got to level 50 before selling, but too good to resist coming back in a 5.99, only thing I'm a sofa gamer, so hopefully some aim assist for controller users on the PC version in PVP , I did read the PVE has aim assist though.

Ended up buying the gold edition for £10.99. My friend did the same. Just played another 4 hours. Decent tactical fps. Add me on uplay Delb0y2007 / steam delahmed.

Worked for me, used PayPal on the mobile site on my phone then downloaded on PC. Thanks a lot OP, was about to buy it for £15 on Steam, but still was a bit skeptical, however at 7 quid it's definitely a steal. Look forward to playing it, Uplay download speeds are pretty good and they also have a decent speed limiter. Happy gaming all!

yes there is a difference, you get steam overlay as well as uplay and see friends from both drms, steam clocks hours played, easier screenshots.

That's a minor difference, when OP was concerned about game lag simply due to using uplay over steam.

the guys asked about lag, not pros and cons of using steam/Uplay or either.
