Picked this up again yesterday, after initially owning it. Some games are targeted for negativity, even by those that have never played them. The Order 1886 is one of those games. And, to be honest, I loved it.
I can see why some had issues with it. But those issues were nothing that the first Uncharted wasn't guilty of, or Resident Evil etc. Short games with no multiplayer. Took me about 8 hours to complete and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
It's a game of cinematic style, and it does it brilliantly. Obviously not to everyone's taste though. Hot from me.

I can see why some had issues with it. But those issues were nothing that the first Uncharted wasn't guilty of, or Resident Evil etc. Short games with no multiplayer. Took me about 8 hours to complete and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
It's a game of cinematic style, and it does it brilliantly. Obviously not to everyone's taste though. Hot from me.

It's a pleasure to play and looks gorgeous. Trouble is it doesn't do nearly enough in other respects to set itself apart from other big-budget titles i.e. poor longevity, predictable story, basically zero replay value, no multiplayer, very little originality, 100% linear verging on claustrophobic, QTE-heavy. I think had it not been so hyped or been a launch title as it was meant to be, it would have done much better exactly as it is. I don't think it's a *bad* game and I'm actually really disappointed that the franchise was killed off. The developers are clearly talented and the series could have had a lot of potential.
In summary, it's a decent but short, forgettable, by-the-numbers game - I can see why so many were so disappointed with it.

I phoned around to a few game stores but they all seem to have increased the price to either £54.99 or £79.99. what a bummer!
