It really is. I was the games biggest critic after initial footage and that awful mp beta.... But Dooms campaign is easily my GOTY contender, even beating out uncharted 4.
This is a fantastic price and worth every penny!

It's still on my to-do list unfortunately, Dave. As with every other gaming member on HUKD, the back log of titles is getting stupidly out of control. I did play the demo and was pleasantly surprised at how fluid it was and I've heard nothing but praise for it, so it's definitely high up on the list.
I'll get there, somewhere between Fallout 4 and Arkham Knight.

I'm still loving this game, a couple of months after release. It really is perfect.

My new biting point for games I don't want on release is £15. I guess I will be waiting a bit longer on this one.

Just buy a £200 ASUS monitor and get the game for free, I'm so good at this money saving thing.
Heat, did dip below 20 quid with a code if I remember, but still a good current price, holding it's value well

Also the glory kills are a great addition, and they quickly become an essential part of the game - this version of Doom really penalises you for enemy hits, so you need to pull off glory kills whenever possible to replenish health.
It's really impressive how everything about the game is channelled into making you keep moving, and keep on the defensive. It's virtually impossible to win the big battles by standing your ground, taking the hits and firing back - you have to stay on the move and strafing. As it should be!
Some of the new power-ups are good too - quad-damage is a bit of a favourite at the moment.

Totally agree with this comment! Brilliant single player campaign with the perfect difficulty curve, but not to the extent where you give up trying. Great price!

I've given up on my to do list. I now live in hope that my sealed PS3 and Xbox games will be worth something in the future

A big part of it is that they've nailed the classic difficulty curve just right.
You'll be introduced to some new horrible beastie early on in a level in a big "oh s**t" moment that you'll feel lucky if you escape alive.
And then by the end of that level, you'll be engaged in a gigantic melee battle with four of the **** running around, seeing them off pretty smoothly, and thinking yourself lucky if you come up against one of them because there's an even bigger hell-demon who's just shown up to make your life a misery.
Great fun.

played online beta... didnt like it. So i will wait for it to go cheaper, around £12 since i am only interested in the story. and pretty sure it will around october when the AAA big budget games release.
