Kind of. There are subtle variations on the cheap stools
Some don't have the anti slip bases or have cheap lifting components. It's truly a gamble until you actually get them in front of you. Tried the cheap versions of these at a few places like the range and dunhelm and they felt cheap.
See how these look when they arrive today. If all else fails they go back to the store and I'm no worse off :smiley:

I tried these ones. Didn't like them. Not very comfy.
Also tried the ones in that clip with someone falling off it. Same. Not comfy.
Neither were very padded and the higher backed one in that clip was the worst of the two. The rigid right angle between seat and back was really uncomfortable for more than 5 minutes.
I spent a little extra and got more contoured ones, with MUCH better padding on Amazon. Worth every penny. They are REALLY comfortable.
I'd try them first. I did. And then bought different ones ....

I can also add the these (both the one I posted and the lower height one here) are higher thickness pvc and more likely to withstand scuffs unlike the more padded versions with the soft pvc which looks better but doesn't last.

You can get the higher backed version of this from Dunelm, I prefer them. Freinds of ours have this version it is a bit more tiring to have no back plus more likely to have an accident but perhaps neater to tuck under your table.
