1. Can you add more games?
2. How big is it?
3. It connects via HDMI but what format and resolution are the games?
4. What's actually in it? Is it just some cheap horrible android machine like the Neo Geo X?

1. No one knows right now. I think they missed a huge opportunity by having no card slot. They then could have sold mini NES cartridges replicas with 30 games a piece.
2. It can fit in the palm of your hand.
3. It is no doubt going to play in the same aspect ratio as the classics. Hopefully, the scaling will be as it is with PSP games on Vita. Where the resolution is exactly so many times more than the NES original and so we won't have any nasty blurring.
4. No one knows but some are suspecting that this may be a repackaged Wii, which already has official emulators built for it via VC. Very possible Nintendo has dropped the Wii to a lower process node and then without the huge disc drive in place are able to achieve such a small size. The Wii mini was small already, and that was with a disc drive.

Like the way the nes controller can be used on wii too. May just buy one of those instead.

I like retrogaming but it's just far too easy to play these games and more on an emulator i'm afraid. Nice novelty value I guess. Wonder if it will offer a Scanline option for authenticity...
I was always a Sega Master System fan myself, I didn't know anyone with a NES. I'm guessing this will sell better in the states.

Yeah with emulators readily available this seems a bit pricey for what it is. If they had one that emulated snes games and offered them a pound a pop I think I'd really consider buying one.

A little screwed? You don't realize that in America tax is NOT calculated in prices so $59.99 will actually be closer to at least 10% more and some states even higher.. so say $66.00 which according to google is currently £49.47

Being manufactured by Ninty I wonder if this will be emulation or similar to the original hardware.
Also I am sure some WhizzKid will hack the storage device so we can inject custom games on it (some how).

Nostalgia only. My.son will get one for Christmas just because he is so obsessed with the NES (He's 11 and Autistic)
For the same money a raspberry pi and usb controllers enables all 8bit and some 16bit consoles plus arcade classics such as outrun.

And I still haven't finished outrun despite managing it in my final year at school 28 years ago...:sunglasses:

I'd love a new version of the zapper and Duck Hunt as an option on this. If they don't work in a way to play other NES games/your virtual console titles on this, it will be beyond stupid.

Wow this is expensive.
So much better getting a pi zero & throwing retropie on it. You can get two usb snes style pads for £5 on eBay. Pi zero £5, ac adapter £5, case £3.50. Assuming you have a spare hdmi lead £18.50, if not £19.50 & you can also play tonnes of other retro games from the snes & megadrive etc.

Nice to see this announced, I hope it's a success so Nintendo release a collection of them - would love to see a range of Snes, N64 and Gamecube Mini Classics too

Knowing Nintendo this will be 50Hz in PAL territories. They're still doing it with VC releases, I can't see them changing tact here...
Might be best to get an NTSC version, or just mod an old Wii and use the controllers from this.

14 Jul 16#35
yeah but lets think about it, not perfect emulation via various emulators vs Nintendo being as picky as they are that they wouldn't release sub par emulated versions of SNES games on the old 3ds because they weren't perfect. I'd pay good money to get perfect emulation and that little box and pad. plus it's probably going to be worth something if you keep it tidy over the next 20 years

Not arguing with your overall message, but I think you missed off a Mini-HDMI to HDMI adapter, and a USB hub with microUSB on the upstream side, and I think your pricing might be a bit off when you include shipping. Just in case anyone was thinking of following your otherwise entirely reasonable advice.
Edit: And MicroSD card...

This thing is gorgeous! And that first party NES pad, too (different port, I know)
But I do worry that Nintendo might produce a cautiously small first production run, possibly leading to a similar patience test/scalping bother for a few months like we had recently with the first amiibos and gamecube pad adapters.

Worth it for Super Mario Bros alone! Ahhhh the good old days where I stayed up 25 hours straight to play it - got to the last level but that needed someone who had had more sleep than me to complete...

There is value in this just for the cute mini NES and playing games like SMB serie &, Zelda on a NES control pad, and without the inevitable faffing around of sorting out emulators, roms, and dodgy sprites and glitch games that ruin the experience. Very clever from Nintendo really to have a cute mini NES, but they always are clever and pull us in with their genius marketing tractor beam strategy's.
SMB 1-3 for example is a fair price on Eshop, pretty cheap really, and it looks great on the 3DS XL. But you don't have the same level of control, and its hard to do things to the same level on a hand held screen based console control pad.
The 30 games could really have been 60 games or even 100 games but the selection is pretty good none the less. Bubble Bobble is always fun in 2 player.
No deal here I guess, but heat for the info from OP.

Probably something to do with them being of a TV/Movie franchise nature?
I would have liked to have seen Blades of Steel which was a 3D looking ice-hockey sports games well ahead of it's time, and ultimately influenced and spawned the EA sports games.
Does this come deal come with an extra controller from Gameseek? Assuming not but they don't say either way in the description but the photo looks like it does.
Also for the product itself I think it's gonna sell well because of nostalgia, ease of use, the NES pad and it's Nintendo. It is a shame they couldn't release a SD card slot for more games but still got a great selection of games. I think it's a good option for people who want the NES experience without having to buy a 30 year old used NES with possible faults and issues for the same kinda price.
I think emulation is a good thing as I'll never own a Neo-Geo and games but I find with emulation with all the games available, I still only play a handful of games.

Do yourself and your brain a favour, get a Raspberry Pi 3, a couple of USB game pads a copy of Retro Pi(https://retropie.org.uk/) for the same price as this. Then you can run Super Nintendo, Sega Master System, ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, Amiga, Arcade etc... and your not restricted to what's in this box.

All bundles come with one controller but if you want a second controller then that'll have to be purchased separately. I agree, the image that GameSeek has makes it seem like they're bundling two controllers but that's probably not gonna happen.
The controller alone is going for £7.99.

Novelty and nostalgia is all nintendo is no I'm afraid. I know this guy who is treating this console like the second coming. Then again he is a bit of a loser who never had many friends and is stuck in nostalgia past. I blame his parent's broken marriage.

$59.99 USD to GBP = £45.01 we always get screwed a little so £49.99 sounds about right.
