I would say its the best paper irrespective of price. The fact it is cheaper then Andrex, Charmin etc makes it doubly good. Its lightly scented and nothing like the school tracing paper bog roll.

Usually grab this from Home Bargains, it's a fantastic wipe.
I'll check out ASDA's toilet roll tomorrow thanks for the tip

I bought this from home bargains at £3.99 as I don't have a farmfoods close enough so still a good deal at that and I would also say asdas shades toilet roll is one of the best out there next to nicky

We've tried everything. It's simple, buy Andrex or named brands and you pay a premium ...for the name. End of.
If you're daft enough to pay more for it, up to you.
Personally, Nicky is ok ...IF and ONLY IF ...you can get it at this price £3.69.
If not, ALDI Saxon 9 rolls still in the lead for cheap but good a** paper.
£1.99 2-ply (the best 2-ply by a mile! most is **** (see what I did there?)
AND note it is still 220 sheets per role.
What's not to like to wipe? :stuck_out_tongue:

Nicky Is definately as good quality wise as any of the so called best brands. Infact when I have needed to get an emergency pack of Andrex from the local shop I think the quality has got worse. Probably some ECC ruling.
Perhaps quality of Andrex will get better now because of brexit. I will stick to Nicky as I think Its the best for quality & value for money. FF only stock the white and usually £3.99. I occasionally get 9 pack from Home Bargain at £2 for a change as they stock the Peach/Pink. I think theres a Blue one as well.

I would say that it is 95% as good as the best I have used (it was a long time ago when I used to get the 'premium' one from lidl when on offer ). Word of warning though, don't touch the Nicky budget one; two ply...

Usually get the £1.99 pack for 9 at B&M. As per all the other comments, switched to these a while ago as they are very nice rolls and great value.

Or if you have the Farmfoods leaflet with the vouchers (vouchers searchable online) you can get 7 of these for £25.83 and use the "£2.50 off £25 spend" to get the 7 for £23.33

I buy this because it is the best value. A good roll for decent quality. I would not say it is the best toilet roll I have used, but there are none better in terms of price and quality.

This has been the price at Farmfoods for ages. Not exactly a deal.

There was actually tests done on a TV show a few years ago taking into consideration price, thickness, softness and whether it does the job well. All the top brands were rated plus Nick and a few supermarket own brands and Nicky was voted overall winner and best value.

Not the quality of this though. Nicky are definitely the best price/performance toilet rolls I've tried.

Is it not common knowledge that bargain shops do cheap toilet paper, among thousands of other items? Aldi and Lidl do 18 roll stuff for £3.99 too.

Purchased 2 packs yesterday at my local FF and they were £3.99 .... ( minus 10% using a £2.50 off a £25 spend voucher), so may not be a national price, or price may have dropped overnight ?

just spent 3.99 this afternoon at farmfood @ wythenshawe, this could be store specific?

Since trying these years back I've never gone back to premium brands. Genuinely a hidden gem in the toilet roll department. How they are so cheap I do not know.
Oh...and I haven't put my finger through a sheet yet!

Very eloquently put! This also reflects my experience as well. All I would add is that my fingers have never gone through it during many "challenging" situations. Nuff said.

I see people saying these are good on here all the time. Why are these better than (for example) Andrex?
Are people saying that given any amount of money (within reason obviously), these are the 100% best toilet paper you can buy, or that they are very good for the money, but not as good as Charmin or whatever?
It's good to get good paper, nothing worse than finding 1-ply tracing paper!
Thanks!

Nicky Elite is triple ply (like the best brands) with good strength and softness. Rolls used to be 180 sheets but are now only 170 sheets. (Most UK rolls used to be 240 sheets but all UK brands have suffered severe shrinkflation over the last few years and it's now hard to find any rolls at >200 sheets!). I'm with the camp who thinks these are the best rolls on the market - almost top in terms of quality, strength and comfort and definitely top on value for money. Haven't bought anything else for 5+ years now. Just like the earlier poster I buy them in bulk at FF (rather than Home Bargains, etc) when they are on offer and there's a discount voucher around. Give them a try!

Got these for the first time at the weekend, and was well surprised on the quality of the toilet roll. I expected something akin to sand paper for the price, but it was smooth, velvety and strong, much like a premium brand. Heat added.
