Bit of an old thread, but just an fyi for those interested. Quidco paid out £30, so far had 2 lots of cashback from MobilePhonesDirect of £14.40 for months 6 & 9, even after changing the tariff to £15pm after 8 months to 2000 minutes and 4gb of data (despite stating in their T&C's that would void the cashback). So far son is very happy with the phone and I'm happy with the cashback

Box came sealed with a sticker on it, which when removed showed void or something so no way of re-sealing without knowing. Everything else inside seemed fine and unused

Placed my order last week. I got an email today asking if I'd like to swap for a Moto 3rd gen instead for the same price.
Erm...no.

Ordered the black version a week ago when it was showing 3-4 weeks delivery. Arrived this morning, got in from work, put the sim in and already on network, currently charging and holding for past 15 minutes with TM to get number transferred, once that's done for £12.50pm can't fault it

meh, couldn't get the phone as a landlord with a mortgage and a credit score with 7 points from perfect on noodle. Failed the credit check but no credit check has appeared on my file so i am guessing that this deal does not exist and they are just cancelling all orders as the confirmation is instant

Probably mean this O2 sim only 12 month contract deal, 2nd down on the list, new 10Gb bundle with unltd minutes for £18pm, but no handset with that deal obviously, so not really comparable to this deal when you factor in the cost of buying the phone outright

Has anyone else had problems with getting a contract with TalkMobile? Both my husband and I have been rejected.... Never had a single missed payment for anything etc. We moved house in April but made sure we're up to date on electoral register. Weird.

My advice would be to not waste your time anymore with Talkmobile. Like yourselves, my credit rating is exemplary (double checked on clearscore.com) as well, and 2 attempts later still turned down. Applied for the o2 deal on the Sunday, sim card delivered on the Tuesday. Went through top cashback and subject to being paid out, the o2 deal will turn out at £14.50 per month for unlimited minutes & texts and 10gb of data.(paying £18 per month) So effectively a massive 50p cheaper than talk mobile and hopefully a better service which it has been up to now.

arn't talk mobile notoriously bad? Used to hear awful things about them.

I had taken a similar contact with MPD on talk mobile. I pay £17.5 a month for the same as this allowance.... after speaking to TM I was told I can have 4gb of data for the same price i am paying.
can I say yes to it..... or that MPD will get behind me for monies as I am going to have more data for free? anyone done that before?
cannot find anything mentioned on their t&cs.... although they say the contract should run the agreed 24 months.... if ended early they may charge the cost of the handset... but if underhand tactic really

the only problems you will have is if your on a cash back deal if you change your tariff you cannot claim it... the only thing your allowed to change is to PAC over your number at the start!
but if your not fussed about claiming it you have no problems.

i went for this a couple of weeks back for my wife very happy with the phone and no issues with talk mobile. was paying 10 a month with tesco mobile so no brainer. great camera and dual sim too!
I've just cancelled sim only with Tesco, best they could offer was £18.50pm for same deal and phone. Only 3G speed data with TM but my wife very rarely gets 4G speeds with Tesco, so no big loss. Just a shame it's 3-4 weeks delivery, but hopefully will arrive earlier, thanks OP for posting

Or this deal, where you get the same price without the need for cashback...
That is exactly the same deal as this one ,turns out £300 over 2 years with same mins &texts before cashback.
I think If I'm not mistaken both mobilephonesdirect & smartphone company are owned by the same parent company.

I'm looking for a phone and airtime package for around this price but with a smaller handset - does anyone have any suggestions? It's for a child so the handset doesn't need to be all singing, all dancing but it does need to fit into small pockets. Would be handy if the contract can be capped so they can't go over the data allowance.
Cheers!

Would be a scorching deal if only they did 4G.
Talkmobile are consistently the cheapest purely because they offer a worse data service.
