I'm not too sure though, the images on the Argos site show that of Moto G4, not Moto G play. It'd be great if someone can confirm (by maybe going to local branch) which model this exactly is. But going by the description provided; specs for Moto G play here: https://www.motorola.com/us/products/moto-g-play
Specifications:
Powerful processor
Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 410 processor with a Quad-core CPU and 2 GB³ of memory¹
All day battery²
2800 mAh battery.
Front and rear cameras
8 MP rear camera, 5 MP front camera
Free storage with Google Photos
Stay automatically backed up and organized, and get two years of storage at original quality.
Pure Android™ experience
Clutter-free version of Android™
The 4G in the Argos description just means it's a 4G phone (ie LTE) rather than meaning 4th Gen. "Sim Free Motorola Moto G 4G Mobile Phone."
They don't state Moto G 4th Gen as the OP has because it isn't.

Except for all the mentions of Moto G Play in the description and all the specs being the low end phones.
It's ok though it has a dast processor
"Watch videos and play games with a dast, quad core processor, 5" hd display and 4g speed."
And a front camer
"Shoot crystal clear pictures with the 8mp front camer and 5mp selfie camera."

its the G Play, the G4 has a 5.5inch screen and 13MP camera
This phone is basically a Moto G 3rd gen. They beefed up the battery and replaced the 13mp camera with the Moto G 2nd gen 8mp camera, so now Lenovo have a entry level budget phone to go with their mid-range phone the Moto G4 and G4 Plus.

This is a crap price. The 3rd Gen is a better buy (faster processor, better camera), and it costs less. The only improvement on the Play is the larger battery.

Just another way for Lenovo to make money by targeting the budget end of the smartphone world.

The Play starts at 16GB, you wont get a 3rd Gen 16GB for less money than this.
I would still buy a 3rd Gen over this though if the 16GB version dropped in price, personally I wouldn't buy a 8GB phone even with Marshmallow and adoptable storage.

Some confusion here.
It is 4th gen...but not the G4 or G4 plus....it is the G4 play
It is more similar to the G3 but with 16GB and a few other mods. Not worth the extra price though, compared to the G3 being about £80 at vodaphone. Not sure how this has hit 300º. Cold deal for me
I do however think the G4 or G4 plus is much better than both the above. but obviously more pricey.

Why do Motorola have to release loads of different phones with pretty much the same name?! makes things very confusing!!
as others have said, the G3 is overall better and was under £100 months ago when i got it. This is a downgrade from the G3! The other G4 models are totally different and could be upgrades, if they're cheap enough.
I was given a spec breakdown by a Lenovo Rep last week for the G4 Play. I missed the bit that states the base model will be branded as the Moto E3 (£99), with 8GB storage. Both will have 2GB RAM. The E3 will have an SD410 processor, but the G4 Play will have an SD450 (which doesn't exist according to Qualcomm, so I'm assuming its a typo). Otherwise the specs are the same.

The base model of the G4 Play is 8GB/1GB RAM. The 16GB variant is expected to be £20-30 more expensive.
Edit: The 8GB variant is the Moto E3, sorry for any confusion.
The £80 moto g3 was the 8gb 1gb ram model, this has 16gb and 2gb ram so for a fair comparison you need to put it up against the 16gb 2gb ram version of the moto g3 which is still £160+ on Amazon currently making this a decent deal. But like you said the g4 is a much better deal if you can stretch a bit more.

Yes, this deal should really be expired for now. The G4 Play isn't due to be available until mid August, so you can't actually buy it, despite the listing on the Argos website.

Not yet it comes out later this year and was announced along with the g4 and g4 plus as the budget brother of them due later.

I don't think it is the 4th Generation device, as per the description...
This is the 4th Gen Link
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5768244.htm#bv_qa
Nothing in the product description suggests its 4th Gen.
Mind you, its a shocking listing, even by Argos standards!

MOTO G 4th gen has FULLHD and 5,5 inch screen
OP. You've had a 'mare....
Just to clear things up there are 3 new 4th gen phones
Moto G4 Plus
Moto G4
Moto G4 Play
The play is the cheapest and does have a lower res screen, suprised to see this though as its still not listed on the UK site US only.
