I've always had my PCs connected through a surge connector but having recently read through some of the claims procedures, I'm beginning to wonder if it's worth it. The lifetime guarantee doesn't appear to be based on a very long life, and, if you've mislaid the original receipt, forget it.

I can see how a surge protector could be useful, however, has anyone ever had a piece of electrical equipment be destroyed through a spike in electricity? Maybe I am just lucky!?
