We can always rest easy knowing the incompetent wouldn't be able to get it to work and harm someone.

Hot, it doesn't come with screws or joiner either.

Hot deal, ignore the comments about lack of battery - of course it doesn't come with a battery or charger, it's sold as the body only and some of us already have Makita batteries and chargers for our existing tools.
I got this impact driver recently, seems decent build and power, a nice addition.

Nor timber to use it on. Bit like a camera body without a lens no deal like that would get hot...oh wait that cant be right!

I have been using makita tools for a good few years now. good tools. you will find body's arnt normally to expensive to buy it's the batteries that bump the price up. heat added as this is the cheapest I've seen for body only.

Dewalt + makita , definitely not the best in the business as far as drills go in my opinion, have tried both on demos but don't match Panasonic for build quality or performance . Try them , you won't go back to dewalt of makita !
funny seeing people who know nothing about power tools complaining about no battery.
this is a good deal for any tradesmen or serious diy'er. a cracking impact gun and a great compliment to any makita set. I posted a deal which was on eBay a few weeks back. it was this gun with the Mac PAC storage case for £70. problem edges this deal if its still running. if not this is a good deal regardless. heat added. :sunglasses:
Thanks for that mate, I actually don't mind a cable just never seen one so assumed they only made cordless, might go for that one

The GMC looks an awful lot like Macalister tools. It wouldnt surprise me if GMC also make macalister. Not great tools but will do the job for DIY n such.
The silverstorm is make by silverline; another budget brand. Could be fine, might not be. complete pot luck. Their warranty system is shady as hell too: "This Silverline Silverstorm 18V Impact Driver is guaranteed for a period of 30 days from date of purchase against a fault developing in either the materials or the workmanship during manufacture. You can register for your 3 Year guarantee by registering your product online." No thank you!
Do you own a drill already? a Makita combi drill and impact driver twin pack weith batteries and charger would be about £160. a good deal if you need both.
EDIT: If you dont mind a power cord and wont be using it much there is this from Makita but cables get annoying pretty quick!

Anyone got a view on this? I was going to buy this one but people don't seem to think much of it. I really don't want to spend more than £60

Not misleading at all actually, and all you had to do was Google the damn thing and you would have seen the vast majority of deals are all body only.

It's not a forum for geeks but everyone thinks a £40 tablet will perform like a £400 one. What was your point again? Last I checked reading was a high competency requirement to use the Internet.

Indeed. Did the title get edited in the last few minutes, as it seems clear now with 'body only' in it!

Great tool, you just need decent bits and more importantly decent screws.

You don't buy many tools do you. At least not decent ones. Body only is the standard way that these are sold.

It's cheaper with Amazon marketplace seller and with a quick google it's only a quid cheaper than available elsewhere. So a good deal rather than a great deal.
