The Logitech Harmony Ultimate includes the Harmony Hub RF receiver. Harmony Hub turns RF signals from the remote into IR and Bluetooth commands your devices can understand. You can access your devices even through cabinets and walls including IR devices and game consoles (PS3, Wii or Xbox 360). With the optional Harmony App, anyone in the house can turn his or her smartphone into a personal universal remote. Plus you get features such as vibration feedback, motion-detection and buttons programmable for both short and long presses, doubling the available buttons.

Can you explain what is user unfriendly about it please? I have had a few logitech Harmony remotes over the years and find them very user firendly once set up properly. Set up does require some patience but is well worth the effort.

Ordered. The new one looks better I feel as this one has the media buttons ABOVE the touchscreen which is silly but we shall see

as DVR isn't our main thing we're quite happy that the record/pause etc buttons are out of reach when channel flipping. the double grip underneath does make it comfortable whether your thumbs is hovering above (for DVR) or below (for flipping/volume etc) the touchscreen.

I guess it would be better if it set itself up for you, made the tea and did your weekly shop for you too but it IS an excellent remote.

took me a few hours yesterday but everything good now

I've got one myself and the setup can be a pain, there's certain settings the app shields you from and if you need those settings tweaked you have to PM technical support your username and they change the setting 'behind the scene' for you, hardly user friendly.
Also keep the lead at hand as when the remote crashes (and mine has twice in the 6 month I've owned it) then you need to factory reset it and sync all the information back to it, a pain on a Saturday nigh when you're just settling down for a movie.

dont worry, it was on offer two weeks ago from amazon for the same price, i reckon you'll see a repeat at the upcoming amazon sale.

had this for a couple of weeks since buying it from this offer.
very pleased with it, all the other remotes are hidden and love the fact i can put 50 channels on the remote and customise their icons/logos. just a shame it shows the channel number beneath.

my girlfriends parents have one of these remotes. it never works properly, the sound often doesn't come on due to the remote, for some strange reason. its just awkward, so that in my opinion makes it a pain to use. I'd rather have 3 or 4 remotes than this.
