This came up two years ago (http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/silvercrest-combination-microwave-oven-79-99-lidl-1632639) at the same price, so I don't think it's bad considering the state of the £ and the metal market. Seemed to be well-received then though it's a pity I can't post to the thread to wake the contributors up to ask them how they are getting on with it. Note that it has a proper conventional oven function as well as a grill. 900W microwave, 1500W grill and 1950W convection.
Note that this is available from 18th July - I filled in the start date field but it is not showing up.

It says stainless steel interior can anyone confirm if the interior may be stainless steel by some luck?
Thanks

Yes it is stainless steel interior.

I haven't got a combination microwave but I would guess that the interior won't be painted, because that only survives in a conventional microwave where the temperature doesn't go much above 100C.

I have one of these and it certainly appears to have steel on the inside.

Ive had one of these and cooked everything from cakes and pies to a Christmas dinner for 8 from scratch 3 years ago when my main oven went bang on Christmas Day after only 1 hour with my turkey in it!! Had to do it in stages but it coped amazingly well and roast potatoes were crispy and gorgeous!!

What's the inside space like- presumably it'll take a large dinner plate?

Yes, it'll take a large plate with ease.

Then that is Awesome! steaming veg and rice cooking caused the other one to go rusty so this may be the option

Or someone is looking for a microwave like this, likes the sound of a branded combination microwave with a 3 year guarantee for less than £80, and is waiting for you to contribute something useful...?

Wasn't me - I'm not in the market for a microwave. What is the exact model you were referring to and how much was it?
It has a one year warranty only. Horses for courses - on paper, they're almost identical (the Russell Hobbs one has higher conventional oven output), and the Lidl one has a better warranty, but (IMHO) the Russell Hobbs one looks better (and will certainly go better in my kitchen).

Thank you - I appreciate the constructive post. However I would suggest that as far as brands are concerned, Russell Hobbs is hardly a glittering example, and also there's the rather unfortunate "Usually dispatched within 4 to 5 months."
Edit: I mistook you for the original troll - apologies.

I just went to lidl and none in my local. Rang to check other local stores and I was told not available until Monday. If that's the case might be worth updating op

I filled in the start date when I submitted the deal. It's still there when I edit it. I don't know why it's not showing - mods?
Sorry to send you on a wild goose chase. :disappointed:

I will just say keep your receipt. Every single electrical item I have ever got from lidl had to be returned due to breaking within a few months, so not voting either way.
Just my experience. Others may be different

All three of my Russell hobby appliances have broken within 3 months of each other after having them only a year.
I had the glass kettle (£50),microwave with grill (£70) and double toaster. High prices poor quality. will not be buying that brand again.
Went for it - seems a good buy. Top AND bottom grill elements. Poster reading the power ratings wrong 900W microwave is ok, but 1500W grill and 1950W convection is MAX consumption figures, so it will be outputting slightly less. 3 year warranty. Quick Starts and manuals (pdfs| here

Bought one today, yet to set it up. Looks pretty decent for the money. I've only ever had a conventional microwave, interested to see if the grill and oven features are any good

Costs abit but worth every penny, bought for the same price 7-8 years ago and still works perfectly, only downside is recently the lightbulb flickers!
