I have been looking for some bark to spruce up my garden for the last few weeks and I was all set to purchase Aldi's bark for £1.99 a bag but when I went in they had sold out!
I thankfully noticed Lidl are doing the same deal labelled £1.99 however when I got to the till they were in fact £1.79 a bag of 35L which makes it the cheapest around.

B&M's had 40 litres of compost, reduced to £1.49 from £1.99.
Not sure if it's national though, so didn't post. Not bad for 40 litres and worth a look.

Bought some earlier in year but it really stinks! Later topped up with the larger bags sold in Aldi much better imho less smell.

What area does 35l cover? It's been a while since I bought any of this stuff :man:

Just blows everywhere when it's windy, not worth the hassle IMHO.

I thought Aldi was decent value, but the quality of it from previous years is terrible now... local garden centre does 2 big bags of bark for £12... 2x100L is almost on par with aldi n lidl cost wise and its so much better quality compared to aldi.

Closer to £20 at my local garden centre. So this seems a great deal (depending on smell...)

10% off something in Lidl is the equivalent of 70% off elsewhere!

Can anyone tell me please what is the purpose of decorative bark ? I mean does it stop growing some unwanted plants or weeds ?

On a serious note; it provides root protection , keeps soil and earth moist and provides nutrients ( when it breaks down over time) . It also prevents other weeds and things strangling your good plants

Daily mail are currently doing £5 off a £40 spend in today's paper and I know some previous day's there has been £10 off £40 spend so if you need to bulk buy this would make it even cheaper!
