I bought the 16gb one for my missus the other day and was toying with getting the 32gb one for myself. As the offer's now off that's the decision made for me. The new Nexus devices are just around the corner so I wouldn't be surprised if the 5x and 6p are both reduced soon

No branding, this is a sim free brand new phone supplied with a ee sim card. You can use any other sim card you like.

Absolutely nothing different, they all come off the same pile in the warehouse whether they are contract or payg and regardless of network. Price comes down to incentives CPW get from the networks, best is o2 payg upgrade at £130, SIM free one would have no extra discount hence the higher price.

Struggling to understand what the difference is between the more expensive SIM free one and this one. If they're both unlocked then this surely is the one to go for. Is this branded as EE in some way, boot screen for example?

It is brand new. What are you talking about? It's illegal to sell something as brand new when it's a return / used. These are brand new phones. Mine arrived and it's brand new. Looks and works beautifully

14 Jul 16#70
If you bought from Google they'd have a white 2x1 inch sticker on the bottom of the box that you'd need to cut to open.
There's no sign of that sticker ever having been on the one I received so wonder if this is how they provide them to resellers as they would often have a contract sim inserted when sent out and not wanting it to look like it's been opened.
Mine is a bit grubby too but put that down a poor choice of packaging on Google's part combined with the state of most warehouses where these have been kicking about for a few months judging by three monthly security updates needed.
Don't think there's anything to be concerned about, inside the box everything including the phone looks brand new.

Just got my nexus 5x from the hukd site and my box isn't sealed and looks a bit dirty on the front and I'm just wondering what kind of seal the box/phone should have.
There's a big wraparound piece of plastic on the phone that you can slide the phone in and out of and then on the back of the phone there is a little sticker that says the IME number. Are either of these what you call a seal?

Wish I could send mine back. Poor battery and God awful WiFi performance. Need to have it set to 2.4, looks like the may security update has ruined 5.8 performance.
On my BT hub, 45mbps on 2.4, under 2mbps with dropouts on 5.8. done a WiFi scan and no interference at all and my laptop is spot on with 5.8.

Is this deal classed as an upgrade? I got an order acknowledgement yesterday but nothing further about delivery.
I just spoke to live chat now to ask when the phone would be coming and they say this is logged as an "upgrade". I've never used CW before. Just wondering if other people have received their phones and if there were any issues?
Thanks

It's common for them to break the seal, it probably says that in their T&C somewhere (many other resellers do this)

13 Jul 16#57
I've bought phones from Argos where the manufacturer seal is broken then a network branded seal is placed over it and the network sim is inside the box

No it is unlocked,I think!Did not switch on the device and sim came sealed!100% sure the phone itself is a return or refurbed! Now going to return!
Just check the seal on box can not be broken in any cases if they sell new devices as described

Did they put the EE sim inside the box?

13 Jul 16#54
Guys, check the seals,it either should be one LG on the side which does not allow to open box or one big one on the back.IF you do not have one of these, you probably received one as I did either used, refurbed or return!
Will take it back to the Carphone warehouse and the manager will struugle to give me a nice deal!

It certainly would have been easier to check the spec on googles product page, its their phone after all.
10.6GB actually.
As is with every other device on the planet - the capacity is not the free space.
You don't buy a 500GB laptop then complain Windows is taking up some of the space...
With Nexus devices, however, at least there's more than Samsung's paltry offerings. Their 16GB devices have less than 8GB free for user content.

It will most likely be delivered by DPD, just refuse delivery and it will go back to them or if you like accept delivery, check it out and you can always take it in store to get a refund.

Going to cancel my order. Carphonewarehouse website is misleading customer mentioning this phone is expendable to 128 GB with micro sd card slot available in this phone. The fact is that there is no card slot available which one can verify on GSMArena website. I spoke to Carphonewarehouse customer care almost 1 hour and didn't get proper information and no one ready to take this responsibility and also no help provided to cancel my order. Frustrating..

Exactly the route I took. Apart from the speaker being nowhere as loud as the One M8 - it's a great phone in all the other ways. Camera, speed, feel. You won't regret it. My One M8 feels so slow now in comparison.
It's all about the apps. Facebook, Messenger and Snapchat are all terrible at sucking away battery. Avoid those, and Android does it's thing with 'Doze' and will last great.
The Nexus 5 lacked a little in 'stock' guise, but unlock the bootloader and flash a custom kernel, and it transformed. Was great once tweaked.
The 5x is actually the first Android phone I've owned where I've actually re-locked the bootloader and kept it stock. Nougat is that good stock - it just works now. Doesn't need kernels, hacks, tweaks, etc.

Such a hard question to quantify and translate to your usage as it varies massively depending on your location, screen brightness and apps you run. I don't know why people are so fascinated on getting "x" hours SoT...
It'll get you through the day if you're a normal user.
If you're not - then you probably have a £10 battery pack already.
Yes, it won't last all week, or 2 days even. But I rarely have to use a charger before the end of the day.

And the openness of it. The bootloader comes already unlocked which means there's always tons of custom firmware and development going on outside of Google. Another major plus for Nexus phones. A big minus though is the lack of micro-SD card and usually always mediocre battery. My opinion

The whole point of Nexus phones are the updates.
