Modern very thin phone with fast processor, perfectly normal.

I purchased one but think its going to go back - I find the back, especially near the camera gets quite hot when using WiFi or any cpu intensive operation. Anyone else - or are all phones like this now?

after all that Faff, I used a PAYG number i had about 10 years ago. It isn't connected, or anything, and hasn't been used for 10 years. It let me upgrade! thanks for help everyone!

Sorry I didn't get that but this deal was only for those who are current payt customers and due for an upgrade, usually once after every 6 months or so, if you buy a new sim sure you can buy a new phone with that too but price for new package would be different since that wouldn't be classed as an upgrade. i hope this helps as not sure what you meant to ask.

Is a new SIM not issued? if the old PAYG phone is VERY old for example?

Reason I ask is someone from CPW live chat says a new SIM will arrive with my friends number on it. Which I don't want!

Perhaps ask your family members or friends if they have an O2 PAYG sim that they've had for more than 6 months. Use the number to check eligibility online. Hope this will help.

anyone able to offer on how I can "upgrade" If I'm not on o2, nor have a PAYG sim? any "workaround" per se?

I've had it for a year or more now I think, just never used it for anything other than downloading that o2 app. Phone's still being a pain, so if a factory reset doesn't sort it out, I'll try topping it up and texting/calling/internetting, see what happens. By which time the deal will have ended, I'm sure.

Is there much of a difference between list & a LG G2? Doesn't seem to be much between the specs.

I did something similar and tried upgrade the next day but it didn't work ... I tried again a couple of months later and it didn't work either. Then I tried it last week with the same SIM and worked OK, i.e. I had used the SIM to text once or twice a week and made about 10 calls in total.

I vaguely remembered someone mentioned 6 months before you can upgrade ...

I hadn't contemplated getting a new phone, by my Nexus 5 is now having power button issues. I have an o2 sim card from when I bought one for 1p off Amazon to use o2 Priority - theoretically, if I topped it up with £10, would it then accept the mobile number and let me purchase for £140 overall? Seems like a handy way of saving £20.

I feel like I've seen this recommended for other phones in the past.

It also says you should get "User manual, Transfer cable and Quick start guide" too...but you don't like all the other times people have commented on CPW's dodgy descriptions and also like most other retailers details of virtually any product they sell.

If you want facts you look at the manufacturers site...which are sometimes right!

Hardly any phones come with them nowadays and when they did they usually weren't up to much.

If it wasn't for the fast charging it probably wouldn't have come with a charger either.

I ordered 2 and both came without headphones.

I'm choosing between this, the moto g 3, moto g 4, wileyswift, Wileyfox. Basically it needs to play pokemon go and work better than as my current moto g 1st gen.

I've got the O2 5s refurb(grade B £96) and just got the Nexus 5x from CPW (for £159). They are quite different. This phone has a bigger screen so much easier to type on and read stuff on whereas the iPhone has a tiny little screen and I find the keyboard hard to type on.

This phone has a better camera I think. The iPhone metal body feels more "premium" to me. Both only have 16GB of space and no sd card slot.

I suppose it depends on what you need and whether you prefer android or ios.

In that case you probably went through the 'pay monthly' check which unfortunately is where the link at the top of this page takes you, or that a pay monthly upgrade is all your sim will allow. Try again by going back to the homepage, click 'pay as you go', then the 'upgrade' tab, pick the 5x and finally select O2 in the 'upgrade' panel. Then fill in the details and it should then say whether you are eligible for this offer or not.

It said Congratulations you are eligible to upgrade on O2 today. and says Next steps: 1) Choose a phone 2) Add a tariff
But I just want the phone, I don't want another tariff as I'm wanting to cancel at the end of my contract next month

It's only meant for PAYG upgrades but doesn't affect the account other than not letting you buy another 'upgrade' for 6 months. Stick your number in the checker and see what it does, all the checker does is let you put it in the basket or not.

I have a sim only 12 month deal going through with O2 at the minute and I'm going to be calling on the 25/07 to cancel as it ends 25/08 and I don't want to continue it. Can I still get the upgrade deal and will it affect anything?

I had the same thing so I just called them up and it's a technical glitch apparently

You need to ring them to confirm, their online ordering is hopeless. I've had one on hold saying they had no payment details despite them sending an email confirming them and then one that they just cancelled for no apparent reason.

Just managed to pick one of these up using my brothers o2 PAYG sim, as far as I'm aware the tight sod never tops up his sim but I put his phone number in and it said I was eligible - just as well as I bought a LG G3 off Amazon Warehouse deal yesterday, came today and it doesn't work! This was only £11 more and it's a brand new, and 2 years newer phone so probably works out better anyway - Cheers OP

It's not for contract but only for PayT sim holders of O2.

Looking for a phone for a relative and it ticks all the boxes otherwise. There's a possibility they wouldn't fill it because they're not a heavy user, but my G2 is permanently overflowing now. Not sure if it's worth the gamble.

It states that this supports sd card up to 128gb on specification but not sure if this is true. I just had a cheeky swim with my iPhone 6s which is currently laying in rice, this might be a cheap option to go for, in case it doesn't work. Hot.

Shame the 32GB is £80 more. I'd buy one but 16GB with no micro SD slot isn't enough for me.

The new Nexus phones are coming rumoured to use Snapdragon 821, 4gb ram etc
