This looks like an awesome price for this model/spec
4k - Smart TV with HDR & 3 x HDMI and 1x USB
This particular model is about £50 more elsewhere, but because AO have their 10% off ALL LG TVs code... Well it's cheaper (Obviously, haha)
It's good to see the prices are dropping on the 4K sets and a lot of people are really looking for HDR, purely because the overall detail/shadowing levels are so much better. Possibly one of the best prices for this kind of spec at the moment.

Excellent. I wonder how a budget 4k HDR tv compares to a (grossly overpriced) non-hdr 4k oled with regards to shadows & vibrancy.

OLED TVs are the best mate buy and try. You won't go back to led lcd TVs

You can just pay the balance off . If you are already a customer, get a family member to do it for you .
I bought a blu ray player off there with the 20% off code, and just payed the balance off, there is no need for finance if you don't need it, they even gave me another £10 off a £50 spend code in the post .

I am currently looking for a TV and I'm between this one and this sony I've seen;
ao.com and use code "GET30" to get £30 off it making it £500.
Can anyone tell me what's best, I'm pretty clueless. I don't care if it's 4K or 1080p (or do I?)

I would recommend 4K as video support is appearing on revisions of current-gen consoles within the next 6 months, and likely we'll see 4K gaming within 18 months. As one would expect the lifetime of this TV to exceed 18 months, it is worth future-proofing.
The HDR feature is not really indicative of display quality, it is merely software support for extra colour in the video codec profiles - where previously such displays would maximize their colour capability by stretching the contrast artificially (perhaps looking slightly unnatural in some scenes). For example, many "regular" Samsung & Sony 4K sets released in 2015 not marketed as HDR-ready have since received firmware updates to support HDR video.
It appears that the insanely expensive OLED TVs are the only way to truly experience HDR in a worthwhile manner as intended.
Also worth noting is that 4K is difficult to stream on most ADSL connections, often requiring fibre. So non-fibre users will most likely require the purchase of physical media.

The six month interest free credit on this deal could be an extra selling point

The reality with true all round full HDR functionality is that a TV will need to have the official Ultra HD Premium logo on it but you will have to pay a great premium for it.
However, there may be benefits of some partial HDR compatibility to improve picture quality but whether that will equate to something that a user can spot will likely be subject to much speculation.
Looking at the specs on the LG site it talks of HDR effect, which may well be marketing trickery to some degree.
I doubt that it will hurt not to have it fully implemented though and I would imagine that we are some time away from budget sets sporting the Ultra HD Premium logo.

Try adding something to push over 499£ and stacking code GET40 to get another 40£ off ( it worked for a 799£ purchase). If GET30 works for 399£ + then maybe GET40 works for 499£?
