I went to collect the 6 I ordered from the Reading branch via C&C this morning and all boxes were in shocking condition and covered with stickers. I was offered another £1 off per item but, I rejected them all. Argos are reknowned for very poor condition boxes and unchecked customer returns. I was in town anyway so not a wasted trip. However, I did buy a Town Hall Modular (retired and now worth £400) in a dented box at John Lewis for £149.99 and there's a few more checked/tested returns coming in apparently, a friend is a manager there and I've asked her to reserve what she can for me.
