Great deal here, the starter pack is at the cheapest I've seen it in a while (it's £56 on Amazon) but any add-on level pack / team pack is FREE (saving up to £24.99)
From the Smyths site: "LEGO Dimensions: FREE Level or Team Pack when you buy any Starter Pack! Add Choice of Starter Pack and Level or Team pack to basket to complete deal."
Presumably this is clearing out the starter packs in preparation for the recently announced "Year Two" sets, but they have confirmed the game itself is the same, all year two content will work on the original game (unlike Disney Infinity and Skylanders), so no reason not to take advantage of a great offer.
I went for the Back to the Future pack myself :)

I always consider this game. But £25-30 for a level. Surely the stand alone lego games provide much better bang for buck?
And after reading a quick review the back to the future level can be completed in 10-15mins.

Story wise the BTTF level pack can indeed be finished in 15-20mins but then just like your typical Lego games there are so much more things to collect before it can be considered finished

Been tempted to buy this for a while now, is it worth the money you end up paying for everything?

That's down to yourself, I spent a lot on infinity and even after its been cancelled I think it was 100% worth it.
I'm looking into dimensions and when the base pack goes below £30 ill bite, seems theres good deals for the packs at times so keep an eye out. On the dodgy side of the net there are 'mods' to clone your figures (same as the rest of ttl) to keep them safe but haven't looked into it

I got this from sainsburys for £56, spent another £4 and used a £20 first time customer voucher. so technically cost me £36!

That's a good deal, but if you wanted a level pack as well it will cost you (slightly) more than this deal

I think the starter pack is still too high priced, if they really dropped it down (sold as a loss leader) then it would hook more people in.

How do you get them to price match if you haven't bought it from smyths as the website states the original receipt is required.

I just showed them the price on smyths website on my phone and the manager matched it. I have done it on a few other toys before the same way
