KFC workers using palm oil. I can only imagine where your palm has been and what oil it has acquired whilst doing so.

Well either the KFC UK corporate website is lying, you're lying or your franchise owner is skirting the rules. Which is it?

Do you think you could stack the 20% off too? Could be as low as £4.40 ish if you could

Twice now the app has failed when I've got the 11 stamps (£5 off voucher). Last time around they honoured it and just knocked the money off but it's frustrating that I've had to do argue the case.
Poor app. Great chicken.

The crispy secret coating is made by the process of incremental heat triple frying. I've also tried this at home with Quorn and it defo works. The first fry is a long one at around 160 deg (10 min) - this cooks the inside. The product is left to drain and cool. It's then dipped again in batter. The second fry is at 200 degrees for 2 minutes and establishes a nice tender texture to the food. It's then removed and left to cool. A further dip in batter followed by final high temperature fry at 240 deg for 30 seconds, which ensures a nice crispy shell. Also means that the food is dry as the final product.
Anyway, hope that helps.

Just tried the rio box meal. You get a pot of sauce with 4 of these little bites in them. Theres so much sauce you can use it to dip your chips and other stuff in it.

Does anyone know if you can request 6 pieces of breast rather than thigh in the bucket? I much prefer breast..

And yet still very expensive. Amazing, given the conditions their chickens live in.

In a KFC Chicken bucket you get either Chicken Wings, Ribs, Thighs or Drumb Stick Legs.
If you buy a boneless bucket you can get chicken breast fillets.

From an ex-KFC employee...
Each tray of original recipe (on the bone) chicken that comes from the kitchen has two breast pieces on it, you can request a breast piece but it's unlikely you'll get one as they're in short supply.
cainer1
19 Jul 16#50
this is true, the small KFC takeaway in my local village hardly ever let me have a breast piece, and they said the same as you.. only 2 per tray, the local drivetrough however always lets me have the Breast, i guess as they are busy they have a high turnover so theres always some lying around
ive never tried to order a bucket of breast though, just the 1 piece that comes in my Big Daddy box meal, nomnom

Worked there as a kid. A full tray of chicken is typically cooked using 4 whole chickens and a half tray, 2 whole chickens. Each chicken comprises of one breast, two wings, two ribs, two thighs and two drumsticks. So the most breast available on a tray is either 4 or 2 depending on tray size.

The weird thing is - I only like breast and hate thigh and drumsticks.. It's completely different in terms of taste and texture ..
Maybe I can say I'm allergic to thigh? Would that work??
cainer1
19 Jul 161#56
i like the breast cause its easy to pull it off the bone and dip in my gravy, drum sticks are the worst for that as it needs to be chewed straight off the bone :disappointed:

19 Jul 16#57
I despise drumsticks in general (not just kfc chicken), usually they're crammed with ligaments and clear gloop
firstofficer
19 Jul 16#58
Very true.. But it also actually tastes different/better. Drier and more fibrous, but the flavour is better..
Anyway, might just go and get a quick KFC take away..
