What a silly comment, technology improves over time just as people don't know the term "HD" is a marketing gimmick, you had "HD" monitors in the 90s even in the 80s pcs were sold as "high definintion" as the term changes over time.
I still see people use things like dvds or even the ones that do use HD its 720p like NOWtv, Sky people just assume something connected to a hdtv is automatically HD.
People are basically sheep, I got a HD tv in 2005 and everyone was telling me its not worth it to upgrade as they can't see a difference in fact most people I saw were using composite rather than rgb scart and theres even a few people do that nowadays with hdtvs.
Nowadays people complain that their phone is isnt 1080p

Still rocking my 50 year old speakers here that make any sound bar I hear sound awful, using my crt for a main tv as everything looks great on it and it has built in 5.1 that is so good even at very low volume my neighbours hear it.

The fact they're quoting that it has Freeview! It's the default TV receiving equipment, if it doesn't have Freeview it's not a TV, it's a VDU.

I don't think they are connected in any real way, UMC are a Slovakian TV maker, Vestel is Turkish, the common theme they share is that they make many TV's under other well known brands..... and they're both budget models makers.
got confused I think, blaupunkt is made by same people, got 2 of these 32" with passive 3d. There are amazing but never liked the unstylish model of the one I got.

I bought a 32" technica from Tesco. It's the same panel as the JVC and UMC and Blackpunt. Just needed to tweek the picture settings slightly

It's an awful deal in my opinion HD ready in 2016 is just poor for whatever price... Every TV should be at least 1080p now as standard 4K is what people should be buying 2017 onwards.

The tuner is not a high definition tuner therefore it is not capable of receiving the full Freeview service. it may be cheap but it is also obsolete and within a few years will need a set top to get the full range of channels.

Not being FHD isnt really a problem at this size, but no Freeview HD tuner does seem a little mean. For an extra £10 you can get a Blaupkunt with the HD tuner.

UMC are more reliable than Vestel by the way. Vestels have very poor power supplies which can take out the LED backlights over time in a lot of cases -- UMC just use generic Chinese supplies which, apart from capacitors will last the set out.

This would be a good TV for my bedroom, actually its a bit big, I need a 26". Pretty sure 1080 and 4k are wasted on a 32 from my viewing distance. That and the coax that feeds it is SD...
My only concern, does it have an analogue tuner for my RF sky signal :smiley::smiley:

The only brand I had an issue with was the Blapunkt (spelling) ones which was a 43" and the picture quality was dreadful. I think that mine was just a fault

It's a reasonable deal.
With a 32" you won't tell the difference between 1080p and 720p anyway.
Even if it did have Freeview HD don't forget that the list of HD channels is still very few.
Pop a cheap Android TV box in this too and you have the ability to get and play HD content anyway through Kodi addons such as iPlayer.
3 x HDMi ports is also good for multiple device connectivity.
What do you want for £120?

Errrrrrrmmmmmmm you can, mainly due to the higher bitrate tbf but yes you can and i haven't got the greatest eye sight. How do i know - how about a 27" 1080p monitor and 32" goodmans 1366x768 tv next to it with being fed a 1080p material ..

Fair point but it uses the HD tuner as a method of enabling IPTV channels via internet. The channels are not free via Sky & BT, Many people cannot use a dish for Freesat. A BT box does have the additional channels but why clutter up the place with an extra box

on a 720p you get the very best SD picture better than watching SD on a 1080p tv and also considering the size it is like watching HD freeview. A different matter when you will try to watch bluray discs but still very good compared to larger screens, even dvd should look better
